I would highly recommend the SK maverick/vantage if you can find one, a few have come up on the exchange&bay since..
Also just remembered the Tops mini scandi flipper for a more easily obtainable option. I havent gotten one yet but its on the ever expanding list

I sent this one to Uncle Leroy. It came with the Dymondwood scales. He replaced them with canvas Micarta. While not rough, they could be made that way.
I spent the money on this one due to it's BG42 steel and the BOS heat treat.

That's a shirogorov cannabis liner lock. Sweet knife, but I think the blade stock is 4mm if not more.

I'm in the same boat and would like a micarta folder, it's either ordering some aftermarket scales for any of my awesome knives I already own or I've had my eye on an Ace Biblio.

I've been waiting on the Kaparas to return with the CQI and this is gorgeous. It looks like you kept the stock red backspacer. I'd love a different color but could live with it. Any more pics you could share?

Of course. Kapara is a great knife stock and it seemed slightly crazy to get rid of the beautiful carbon fiber, but micarta adds grip where needed on this knife and looks fantastic with the heavy working stonewash finish that Josh did. When I got it, I rubbed some oil into the micarta and swapped out the pocket clip with the one they use on the Spydiechef to match the blade better which is why my pics look slightly different from Josh's. And the fact that he can take nice pictures. I did keep the backspacer and really like the look.
