Point Reyes Backpacking

One of my favorite stops when I was in California 5 years ago. I need to go back. We actually stayed at the Hostel instead of camping on that particular leg of the journey. At night we went outside and were surrounded by a heard of something, either elk or deer.

Thanks again guys for all the comments.
I'm not sure about magazine quality, I'm not a real photographer, I just try to capture some memories for when I'm old and can't remember for myself...:(

Awesome. Love the waterfall and the seal pics. Thanks for sharing. Congrats on the weight loss, how did you do it?

If you really want to know, PM me.

Otherwise, the short and sweet is to burn more calories than you consume. Keep this fact in mind: There are some 3500 calories in a pound. I didn't go on any particular diet, but I do try to eat better. Just look at what you do on a typical day throwout a typical week, then calculate out how many calories you are eating. Don't forget to add the sodas, energy drinks and coffee.

Very nice pictures.Looks to be an interesting area.
Thanks for taking the time to post those photos

Very cool Nick. Ill bet it was a great time.

Im gettin sick of these 40 degree overcast/rainy days weve been having. I got a week of nice sunny blue skies to get out on the bike and do some hiking....Then....Bam! Another 2 weeks of november like weather.:barf:

Oh well...Ill see ya soon buddy.

Oh, and you nailed it about the diet thing. Bottom line is to get your calories in check with your activity, and keep moving. Eat clean, and the weight will fall off in time. No way around it. For every pound of Muscle you gain it burns like 150 extra calories a day, so a 5lb gain in muscle will have you decimating calories all day long. That and interval training is the key to my success dropping weight.

Man, EXCELLENT pics Nick :thumbup::thumbup: You guys had excellent timing with the weather, last weekend was perfect! The last time I was out at Tomales Point, it was foggy all morning and we only saw the elk nearest to the trail. It did clear out in the afternoon though, but they had moved a good distance away from the trail.

Good stuff!

Awsome pics man! I'm with Ray, a place like that might make my wife want to go backpacking!

Thanks! That's one of my favorites too.

Yeah man, we're loosing Boomer soon, so we're gonna need some new backpacking friends, lol.

I actually thought to call you guys and see if you wanted to meet us on Sunday for the Tomales point section, but I didn't think about it until Sunday when we were already on Tomales point... :jerkit:

Yeah, I was going to say I could have met you guys, but I thought it might have been a spontaneous dayhike. I got off to a late start on Sunday anyway, with the time change. Ended up just doing a quick hike in Half Moon Bay. From your pics, you guys scored some incredible Point Reyes weather though, I missed out. Next time :)
