poison ivy sucks!

I have also heard not to mix bleach and vinegar, apparently it makes Chlorine gas. I know I know, off topic, but sometimes people use vinegar on a sunburn, and reading how some people use bleach on poison ivy, I'd hate to hear of anyone doing a double application using both, heheh.

Umm... I don't know what you're talking about.

Household bleach IS chlorine (sodium hypochlorite 4%, to be exact) plus detergent.

I think what you're thinking of is mixing bleach with hydrogen peroxide (hair bleach)... but even that is not deadly, as it will produce mainly oxygen gas (peroxide will decompose to water rapidly)... but will indeed produce some chlorine gas that could be hazardous in a poorly-ventilated environment.

yeah i screwed that up.....i was thinking bleach and ammonia.

sand paper and strait bleach has worked. it will hurt really bad for a few minutes, but id take momentary pain over prolonged itching personally.
