Poking around here is dangerous

So I have been reading this forum for days trying to decide on a good pocket knife. I have seen so many nice looking knives in the picture threads that I got myself more confused the more I looked. I have so many knives but moved away from traditionals pretty early on.

Now I found myself wanting one. I have a Case, some old Schrades, some Camillus and other assorted knives but really wanted something new. Well after much looking I found one today that looks like it will fit the bill. All I have are the pics on the web site until it gets here but I decided on a GEC bullet end jack.

Will post up more shots when I get it.

I'm stoked.

Wow! I would be stoked too!

I do believe that is the best looking Red Stag I have ever seen.

Gorgeous knife!

So do y'all just throw these in your pockets or do you get sleeves for them. Don't really want to scratch it all up but it's not going to be babied so maybe I shouldn't worry about it. How do you all like the 1095 on it? I have several fixed blades with it but never had a folder.

Thanks Peter I appreciate it. I started out looking at the horn in that model. Could have saved myself a few bucks too but that stag just jumped out at me. I am really fond of the Furtaker as well but maybe I'll get that one later. I really like the classic cigar shape on a knife. I don't need another knife addiction. I can barely afford the one I have now. Oh well, can't take it with you I guess.

I actually have a sleeve for mine, only because it came with the knife. They are kind of usefull, but I probably wouldn't bother if it's going to be a regular user. As far as GEC 1095 I love it. Keeps an edge well and sharpens easy. Also gets some real nice character. Nice choice, looks like a real keeper.

Well if this one comes with one I might use it but I am not going out of my way for it. Wondering if I should just go ahead and force a patina on it to protect the blade. Maybe some vinegar or just cut up some fruit. This CV Case I've got I have cut so many things with it that I am almost used to the taste of metal.

Hi Liveitloud -

Beautiful! I like the pinched bolsters too - that is a very classy knife!

Thrown it in your pocket. A sleeve sounds good at first, but no matter what you do that knife is going to pick up some scratches and dings. It'll look weird if the blades show wear but the handles remain pristine.

Thanks. I saw you on the thread over at the other forum where I found this. I think it's going to be a dandy.

Probably the best advice. Kind like waiting for your new car to get the first scratch. It will be a user so I just won't worry about it.

I double dog dare you to ask Tony Bose about sleeves(purses) for them.;)
I personally love the 1095. It's so easy to get a razor edge on them.

Thanks a lot protourist. I will try to keep the stupid questions at a moderate level. :)
If you ask fewer of them than I have you will do well indeed. These are works of art that are made to work.
