Poking around here is dangerous

Thanks a lot protourist. I will try to keep the stupid questions at a moderate level. :)
One of my many mottos- the only stupi question is the one not asked. Ask away.
Honestly, the patina will look better, and you will have more memories when you look at it if you let it form naturally. Just use it everyday, and it will form soon enough.

You are probably right. Hell, I eat enough fruit that I should get one going quick enough without using a vinegar bath.

I just put mine in a separate pocket from keys or other "scratchy" objects. Yours is REALLY a great example of red stag, just gorgeous. Welcome to the loony bin!

Thanks Black Mamba. This could be trouble for sure. Aren't you the one that posted in the picture thread a really cool looking fixed blade, looked like a blackjack 125 but I can remember. Just thought it looked really nice!

What a gorgeous knife "Liveitoutload" those handles are stunning. I agree with those that say let the patina develop "naturally". Here's my Northfield jack with "natural" patina since May of this year :) I love the carbon blades---so ez to sharpen and they get SHARP!!!

Thanks for showing your knife---I'm definitely putting that one I'm my "want list"

That is amazing stag! Both sides but the shield side had me awe struck for a moment.

Congrats!

GEC 1095 is great stuff at the hardness they run it. You will love it and the patina will come on quick if you use it for food/fruit. No slip for any of my GEC's.

camp as pink tents that one is - get the ebony :D

(the bullit, not the DLJ that is )

....and I'm putting that one on my want list. Nice!!!!!

I have to get one of these, hefty price point though.

I kept weighing the difference between the stag and the horn. Difference was about 60. I figured if I got the horn, everytime I looked at it I would kick myself for not getting the stag since they are pretty hard to find. Then I'd be out the money and hurt from kicking myself. :)
