Polar bear

Heya Spectre...I'm assuming you meant RWS...

It's just kinda commonly referred to up here. I'm afraid there's not a written source or anything I can refer you to. I've seen a couple when working in some villages myself (didn't stop them to ask about a selector or anything though) and several of my friends and colleagues have as well. Also used to work at the Native hospital in Anchorage where I was told the same thing by several different folks

I have a friend of a friend of a friend of a brothers uncles nieces buddy's half step brother in law who USED to have a pretty sweet M-2 Carbine he got from one of the villages. (Indidentally, it didn't live up to my expectations when I got to play with it)

can't blame ya' if you take it with a grain of salt though.

My dad and I used to throw marshmallows to them, back in the days when you could feed zoo animals. I'm sure we were responsible for a lot of tooth decay. So the marshamallows would be good if you could wait for the tooth decay, short of that, 30-06 or whatever he is very good with. First Nation hunters use whatever they have.
Good common sense and alot of "don't put yourself in a bad spot" should get him through just fine. I hear the fishings great!

My bad. I often know that Scissors doesn't start with K...:foot:

That's okay...I've had worse. Some people don't believe "Runs With Scissors" is my birthname! That really offends me.:D

I have the same problem. :grumpy: Some people don't think Runs With Scissors is MY birthname.

Can we work on this together? :o

I was up north last year doing some remote field work during the salmon runs. The bear guards all carried 12 guages with slugs. Sometimes they had a load of birdshot in the chamber for a warning shot.
