Police 3 - quick pics

Hey guys,

my Police 3 arrived! My first impressions: long, thin, lightweight! Man you can gut yourself just by opening the knife too close to your belly The action is very nice, stiffnes is just right - typical spyderco. Closing by wrist flickin (=stopping the blade at the choil by index finger) is perfectly possible. Fit&finish very nice. The long swedge gives the impression that the blade is thinner than really is. I like it :thumbup:

Thanks for the nice pix, I'm trying to decide if I should by one or go for the green g 10 endura. may be I will just hold on and wait for the new native........
I carry mainly in my jeans front pocket, big knives are too big and small knives always feel to be too small, go figure

Its strange I thought I'd sworn off serrated knives for good but the Police always just seemed so right as a serrated piece...

But I'm sure that plain edge must be a wicked slicer!

Thanks for the reminder, I forgot to wrote about the lanyard hole - I most certainly DO miss it. I got used to pulling my knives out of the pocket using lanyard, too bad I can't do it with this Police...

I assure you that American front jeans pockets will easily fit a full sized Police model. I carried one in my front right pocket for about 14 years.

on picture NO.4 how come it says japan?spyderco's arent made in japan are they?I'm a little bit to patriotic when it comes to my knives lol.

Some Spyderco knives are made in Japan, other are made in the US. I assure you though, quality does not suffer on the Japan made knives.

The big, chunky one on top in that first pic, the Manix, is USA made.

Thanks for the pics ,I had not seen a P3 until now and am a big fan of the old one particularly my beloved fullyserrated stainless VG10 model. I definitly miss the POLICE
label though. I totally agree that the Police is one of the models that suits fully serrated very well and I am usually a PE only guy. I just got an awesome little sheath for my old style Police from Eric at On Scene Tactical. I posted a photo on the picture thread if anyone's interested.
