I'm wondering if anyone here might have any feedback on www.policegearusa.com ?

I have placed an order with them and my cc was charged. With the holiday this week, I wasn't expecting a week old order but shot them an e-mail inquiring about order status. They state they will contact in four business days if there is an issue. I received the initial confirmation and my card was charged the same day.

It has been only nine calendar days and fully expect I'll see a delivery but it is odd that they have not e-mailed shipment confirmation, nor replied to my inquiry. I'll follow up next week at the two week mark if items have not been delivered.

A site that references them as a sister site is
www.lapolicegear.com and they seem to get good marks.

I'll probably not panic for a couple of weeks and only if another E and a phone call yeild no response.

Thanks in advance for any related experiences with this company. I am always the first to give a vendor the benefit of the doubt and have yet to have a failure like this. I guess it may just have been a matter of time before I had a problem. I'm still very hopeful and understanding (to a limit).

Cheers

Thanks for the reply.

I've still not received the items, or a reply to my inquiry on order status. The items I ordered were listed as in stock. I'll send another mail of inquiry if I've still not received the shipment by the end of the week. It is one coast to the other.

Still, I'm a little bewildered by their lack of communication. They ask for all inquiries be made through e-mail, yet they have not responded.

I had ordered some ink from Texas and there was no shipment confirmation, yet the product arrived two days later.
(kudos to Mr. Ink Jet Inc.)

Ugh, not good.

I just spent $25 there Sunday night and it hasn't been shipped as of yet but now to hear your story I feel a little nervous that this could turn into a process. Two days is nothing to worry about yet, but still... :(

Well, I got a response to a second e-mail. It was a simple, one line, "One of the items is backordered, we do not have a shipment eta".

So, I suppose it is a matter of the website not being updated periodically. Both items were shown in stock.
I hope the wait is minimal. In general, I see charging a cc before shipment as a bad thing. I know internet carts are set up differently but a lot of companies will hold a temporary authorization until an order ships.

Although the sibling company, LA Police Gear is a Yahoo shopping affiliate Police Gear USA is not and I cannot give them great marks so far. Communication appears poor, they don't offer an alternative to the order. They discourage phone contact and mandate any questions go through e-mail.
I would have been willing to scrub the backordered item or accept credit. At least some (Mike Dye comes to mind) will let you know what's up and offer alternatives.

I'll still be delighted when/if I get the order. They are not items I can't live without but it's beginning to look like the money would have been better spent elsewhere.

Overall shopping experience with www.policegearusa.com so far
is only getting a 3 out of a possible 10 from me.

I ordered a phone case last year. My card was never charged. I emailed them after a month and never got a response.

"YOU CAN NOT BEAT OUR PRICES AND FAST SHIPPING!

Items shown as in-stock will ship within 24 hrs.
Now open to the public... thats right... Now you to can take advantage of the LOW prices that were normally reserved for law enforcement or military personnel!

In stock MEANS in stock at PoliceGearUSA.com. We are one of the few web sites that actually lets our customers see what is on our shelves. Most web sites will not do this. We want you to be happy with your buying experience which means getting what you ordered fast. If you see "In Stock" for a listed product then that means we have one ready to ship to you!!"

I guess this means their fullo-S***

It is also against most merchant agreements to charge a card for an item that hasn't been shipped.

Yup, the ad copy just doesn't jive with reality. They did update their site and I now know it is the DMT stone I ordered that created the snafu. Their prices do fall into the lower end of the scale and I imagine they do a fairly brisk business. It's ironic, the stone was an impulse purchase because I almost felt guilty only spending a few dollars on the other item.

Fortunately, the charge to the card falls into the next billing cycle and I can't really whine until next month.
They probably have their cart trigger billing by their inventory status and this time it let us down.

As both Police Gear USA and LA police Gear operate out of a suite, they may well be just another E-Commerce operation that scrambles to fill orders when they can. Blade Matrix was another site that had mixed reviews but my one experience with them was nuetral.

Thanks for the thoughts and replies. I didn't figure they were complete bs but they are apparently a company with some issues.

Just to update this, the order shipped and I have received a tracking #. I don't forsee any more trouble. The items are generic enough that I can't highly recommend this company as the only place to shop but they do have decent prices. With the communication issue, I don't know how a real issue would go but they do seem to follow through when mailed repeatedly.

I'll raise the points to 5 of a possible 10 because the tracking indicates a Friday delivery (those points should really go to the shipper though).

I got my order last night, but there was a mistake (I got two packages of tweezers and no toothpicks). I contacted them last night and haven't heard back yet.

Edit: I just called, it's on backorder. They said it'll be sent ASAP, so we'll see.

My order arrived as scheduled.

I have to discourage ordering from this company. They don't update their website to reflect reality and they appear to be a drop ship operation.

My order was drop shipped by Moteng International, I might as well have ordered direct from them. One item was not as advertised but I was skeptical from the get go. Police Gear USA advertised a discontinued item and what I received was the current equivilant. No biggie, my real gripe there would be with the manufacturer.

So, a mixed bag. Just another virtual marketplace that drop ships from wholesalers.

We makes our choices and lays our money down.
