Hello my dear friends,

Today, with God's good will i have the pleasure to present you the first folding knife out of our new shop - the 'Microlab' - Police

After a lot of work and investment we now have all means to create knives on the highest standards. The new 'brand' under which all our knives will be sold is called 'Microlab' for the sole reason that this is indeed where they come from. In order to cut costs with space and use the money into precision equipment we went for a cubicle small shop with a separate dust room that allow us for a lab like environment to work in :)
In the 'dust room' we have the 'angry beavers' as i call the bandsaw and the grinder while 'the lab' offers a dust and dirt free environment for clean and precise work.
Autocad designed blades are transposed on the ground flat steel stock and cut into shape using an industrial grade metal bandsaw that together with always fresh bands assure minimal steel structure distortion on the cut. All grinding is performed on an 'in house' designed and manufactured grinder with micro adjusted and digitally controlled angles using Austrian made Sola equipment and a perfect flat ceramic glass platen for the best results.
The HT is performed in a laboratory calibrated kiln with lab precision thermocouple and electronic control following strictly manufacturers HT diagrams from renowned EU steel manufacturers like Sandvik and Uddeholm. Tempering is done in an oven controlled through high end Digitron temperature control equipment. After the HT the blades are tumble finished in order to smoothen all sharp edges.
Handle materials are always of top quality, industrially high density micarta, high end carbon fiber composites and the list goes on; the scales are then contoured on the mill and finally hand finished for a nice fit and finish. All guiding holes are drilled on a precision mini mill to assure a perfect perpendicular hole. They are after that reamed to final quotes for very tight tolerances. Taking all these into account we use no glue into applying the scales to the tang but on request marine grade epoxy can be used. The screws all all tightened to optimal manufacturer recommendation torque (at 0.75 nm) using homologated Wiha torque screwdrivers, for best results while the pivot pin is hand tuned for optimum action.

The knives comes super sharp right out of the box and ready for use for the best user experience.

The blade is perfectly centered and has a nice smooth but firm action due to the phosphorous bronze machined washers. We make the washers on a cnc precision lathe as the micro grooved surface left behind has the overall surface wider while the contact surface is kept to a minimum, the tang rotating only on groove peaks.

All parts but the screws and washers are handmade in our shop for a one of a kind product.

The knife comes with a custom made original Cordura pouch with YKK zipper and D loop.

The specs are as follows:

- 80crv2 tool steel 0.93" thick - clay hardened with a nice hamon
- full flat grind
- acid etch finish
- phosphorous bronze washers cnc machined
- custom turned brass thumbstud
- lightweight heat treated stainless steel liners
- overall length 6.7" with a blade length of 2.95"
- high density 'sand' micarta
- blue anodized aluminum washers and black steel screws & brass pivots
- custom made original Cordura pouch with YKK zipper and D loop

The price for this knife is 330 usd.

All and only the best, God bless,
Bogdan

I assume it is a liner lock, but I can't really tell from the photos. Also, I hope when you roll these out that a flipper delete will be available. Some of us are anti-flipper.

Seriously, this is an excellent knife. I hope to own one some day.

Hello my dear friend and thank you very much for your kind appreciation!

Even if it looks like, the protrusion (guard) is mainly for design and using it can only start the deployment. The knife can be indeed easily flipped open with one hand but using the thumb and thumbstud with a short, firm push.

If i understood wrong what you said please do excuse me but as i am not a native speaker sometimes i might mix things ;)

All and only the best, God bless,
Bogdan

now given this knife a proper workout, i like the way it cuts and works and the size , although the flipper is hard to master but using the stud it does work. all in all a good little workhorse .

Hello my dear friend and thanks a lot for your kind appreciation and honest review!

It is my mistske i haven't mentioned but the 'flipper like lever' is only for design as i wanted the knife to have some kind of guard for both look and safety. This can be notticed by it's posotion in front of the pivot hole which does not gives it enough lever force to open ;)

I am very happy and honored to have it in your collection - thank you very much for the opportunity and trust!

All and only the best, God bless,
Bogdan
