Did they ever make a Police knife with a lanyard hole?
Also, did they ever make one that does not say Police?
I saw a stainless steel knife at a flea market, he claimed it
was a Police knife, it may have been just an Endura.
It also did not have the Boye Dent. It was nice looking
either way. I might get it this Saturday, if he still has it.

Thanks for any information you can give me.

Hi there
the short answer is YES, there are some Police Models that have lanyard holes; and YES there are some Police models that don't have police on the blade. Blade length and shape differentiat a Police from the endura.Check out the Spyderco home site, the latest knife has the same blade shape as all but the oldest police models. The presence or lack of a Boye dent only indicates it is a bit earlier, not especially old.

Assuming it's stainless steel, then if it's a Police it will have a swedge grind (false edge) on the front-most inch or so of the spine. If it's an Endura, it will not, unless someone had a lot of time on their hands. Steel is another thing you can sometimes use to be sure which knife it is. Prior to the new ones that have clip holes on all four corners, SS Endura blades were all AUS-6, while the Police never was.

As for lanyard holes, here's a Police that has one...

...and a couple with no POLICE marking on the blade...
