Thanks man. I use a rotary sander to go up to 3000 grit. Then finish off with a foam buffing wheel on a small DA sander with a polish. Makes it seem like it is lacquered.
as for polish mothers makes mag polish and flitz both have some good ones if you have a rotoe tool you could use jewlerys rough the co;ors tell you how course the rough
It needs a little more elbow grease, but I like how it turned out. Glad I tried this on my Skyline... now I feel comfortable to do this to the barrel of my Ruger LC9. Now that I know the process and I have the right tools, I feel a lot more comfortable.
Thanks. I just got a felt wheel for my Dremel and a Porter Cable compound bar from my local LOWES. 10-15 minutes yielded this... I'm sure I could do better if I put some more time and effort into it. It only cost a couple of dollars and was very accessible.
