Polished blade??

For those of you with Sebenzas with polished blades, how much do you use the blade and how well has the polish held up?

I want to get a wood inlay model but don't want to not use it because I'm "afraid" of hurting the finish. Just curious what you all that have and use them have found.

I have used mine quite a bit and it holds up just fine. Just don't be cutting stuff with sand on it, or very hard use stuff. I have cut open boxes, gone fishing with it, etc... and there is not scratch on the blade yet. But you will get a scratch on it eventually. When that happens you can then breathe a sigh of relief and then use the hell out of the knife. No knife will look like new for ever if you are going to use it.

You will see a finger print on it every time you open the knife, but any polished blade will do that.

Thanks. I think the polish probably makes the inlays look a bit better too.

The polished blade definitely makes the inlays look better. It even makes a plain Sebenza look better. Just watch out for scratches or finger prints.

The polished blade does make the knife look better... no doubt about that. But the stone washed blade is not that far behind, thruthfully

I have several polished blades, but I almost always carry a stonewashed 21 because I have the same concern that you have.

I use my Snakewood Sebbie gently because of the polished blade. However, if I ever scratch it a refurbishment is always an option.

Well that helps me make up my mind! :D

I was thinking of ordering directly from CRK an inlayed model with a tumbled blade, so I actually use and carry it.

I like the finish on the Large 21 I have. Almost an understated but still refined look.

What about getting a polished blade using it, and it ever shows too much wear sending it into the CR spa too bring it to new condition.

In YouTube look up flitz rifle and gun wax on knives. The guy puts it on his sebbie and shows that finger prints don't appear. Great video and ever since I watched it I have been looking for a bottle of it.

Thanks for the vid whoever you is...

It's my understanding that CRK won't change the default options for those models. You'll have to order a second blade.

My CRK's are all stonewashed, but on other, polished, knives that I have; I just lightly rub them down with 1500 grit sandpaper to restore the polished finish.

The original sebenza's had polished blades. I just like it better.

So what if it get a little scratched up?

I was looking at some pictures of polished blades on Sebenza's and was wondering if the whole blade is polished? Or if only the grind part is polished and the spine or top part of the blade is still stonewashed?

I can't find any pictures that are conclusive.

I'd appreciate knowing if someone knows.

Thank you.

Only the hollow portion (blade grind) is polished. The rest is still stonewashed.

Thank you Josh K!

Now I know. That's too bad, for some reason I thing the whole blade being polished would look better, but I've never seem one....yet.
