Polished Blades Pic Thread

I use these glued to a wood backing as a down and dirty strop

I think that's about as polished as I'm going to be able to get without a machine. It's down to 7000 grit and polish but it's not where I want it.
 
Be aware guys, when you start to polish blade with water sandpaper. Big mistake imho is when you round transition grinding and everything on a blade merges.
 
Makes for interesting photos, but way too prone to pick up scratches, especially on a chopper... I had to have this one re-done in a satin finish...:
