Polished G10 (RAM)

Very nice.

I have 2 Leeks, both have S30V blades and G10 scales. One has textured scales, the other polished. Both came that way from the factory- they're sprint runs.

The polished scales are really pretty, they're iridescent. Holding the knife up in the light and slightly rotating it gives fascinating effects. And yes, the polished scales are much lighter and thinner than the textured, so much so that the knife with polished scales is noticably lighter and thinner than the other.

Thanks for all of the compliments on the Skyline.

I've got a Spyderco Persistence on the way that I think I will do the same way. How do you guys think that will look?

I don't think it'll look as classy, but it might look decent. Be careful though, those screws look like they're flush with the G10.

Good point, if necessary I will just grind a bit off the bottom of the screws.

I polished the G-10 scales on my ZT0205 and they came out looking really good. I got down to the wood grain look that G-10 has. Surprisingly the grip is still sorta sticky. I also have sanded the tan handles on my Tyrade, but they either don't have the wood grain look or I have not gone deep enough, although I like what they look like presently.

This post is worthless without pics! :D

Imust be crazy, but I love the texture of G10 feels as good as texutred CF.
