This is really my first time posting a pic of any of my knives. I've been lurking this forum for a while, collecting beckers along the way, and this is my first real attempt at modding one of them. I also own a 2, 7, and I just got a 16 as of last week, but I'll save those for another post. Here's the 14:

Used a gel type stripper to get the coating off, then sanded from 220 all the way up to 2000 grit, finishing with mothers mag & aluminum polishing compound. My fingers hurt now lol. Also used a solution of white vinegar and lemon juice to patina the handle, and squared off the spine for a nice sharp ferro rod striking surface.

Cheers, gents.

Nice work man. Looks great!
I polished my 11 many moons ago so I know how much work it can be. Lol
Welcome!
Your lurker status has been revoked.

looks great! I was contimplating polishing my BK24 (once it arrives on monday), but I know how much work it can be to get that kind of shine on steel with out a buffing wheel.

Thanks for the kind words, fellas.

Yeah this was definitely the type of project to do while you're sitting watching tv. I figured I couldn't make it out snowboarding on my day off so this was the next best option.

Looks awesome - what did you use for the actual polishing? Belt sander?

I would love to get this sort of mirror finish on a few of my blades.

All sanding and polishing was done by hand. This was much easier than polishing all 4 of the wheels on my car by hand lol. I'm a sucker for punishment.
