Polishing Compound In Relation To Grit Size?

Hi Chris,

No. That is considered a trade secret among certain manufacturers.
Originally, Dialux "was formulated in France". The present trade mark
owner states that Dialux Vert/Green, is intended for Bright polishing
of hard alloys like white gold, platinum, chrome and stainless steel.
Also suitable for silver.

Have fun!

Dialux is very high quality stuff it's popular with watchmakers and jewelers but works equally well as a strop compound.

Claes, fsatsil,

Thank you. Trying some on my washboard + 2 layer of 80gr paper.
Seems to work well for VG10 that has been giving me problem.
(Initial impression, might change when I get to test more)

As a newly novice whittler, word worker...you folks are both amazing and mind numbing at the same time. I mean that in a good way. So, as I had originally looked for some info on green and black compounds for a pocketknife I'm restoring for a friend... I've found so much more. This is amazing...and hopefully I'll get out of this rabbit hole and back to work within an hour or so... Thanks!
