polishing micarta?

is it possible to polish the micarta on the handles of the two trident bowies? i already own the s2b and soon an s2 , so i was wondering , can you polish the micarta? if so, what do you use?
 
It depends on the type of micarta. Most do well with varying grits of fine sandpaper (if by hand) or belt sander up to 600-800 grit and then buff with a cotton buffing wheel and buffing rouge or buffing liquid (I use a liquid buffing compound for rubbing out laquer paint at 1200 grit). Be carefull with the rougher grits and a belt sander so as not to remove too much. There are probably many ways to do this that works. This works for me.
