Polishing the blade finish

if you have a satin finish blade it is accually a ceramic coating and will not polish back to its original finish.

That is correct.

You can keep it clean for a while but eventually it just dulls. Its happened to all my satin coated blades that i use.

You can strip the coating back to the metal giving a similar look but as i said its just natural wear and tare for that blade finish.

I don't know what grit Tom finishes with but it leaves a nice bright satin on the steel. That would bring up the luster.
 
Yup, a nice clean grind just off the belt looks nice. Im a big fan of bead blasting as well though :thumbup:
 
Got ya, Haze! The reason I like the green scrubbie look, is that if the blade gets roughed up, the scrubbie will bring it right back to new. Scrub in ONE direction!!
