Lets assume that you can't have both, who would prefer a cg offering at say 297$, or an LE offering at 397? (give or take for the actual pricing, assuming there will be a 75 to 100$ price increase for the satin finish and the numbering)

I know Jerry has said that this is going to be a one time non cg edition. I'm assuming that the basic line isn't what they want to concentrate on compared to the normal full exposed tang lines, so its worth getting the most bang for your buck out of a limited run of something you don't plan to come back to... but just for the record :p

As much as I like satin, I look at the basic line as being affordable beaters. I want them as cheap as possible.

The very concept of the Basics (If I recall properly) was an affordable everymans knife.....

I hate to see them cost 100 (or so) extra just because they were only offered in satin finished.

Bring on the CGs!!!!!!!...and no choils.....

I wish they were made as combat grade blades and as cheap as possible. Mine will be a user. As are all my knives. I don't care if it's numbered or not. Strangely I really like the look of the beat up coating. and I don't like the look of scratched satin finish.

You can have all of the CG's with coatings, I will take LE's all the way. Sorry to go against the grain.

No, your opinion is valid and important, especially if you are actually planning on buying from busse directly. The polls done on options like this are important in that they give an idea on the trends and opinions of the more active busse fans. If polls consistently show 33%+ of "no choil", then we get the basic 10 being offered without a choil. It may not be a 50/50 split, but if it's financially worth it/theres enough of a user/buyer desire for the feature, busse has an incentive to offer it.

I like the CG blades better. I live in Florida and it is really humid here. I always make sure to keep the whole blade of my LE oiled insted of just the edge like on the CG's. Plus the CG's are a little easier on the wallet. The CG's also look bad a** when they are broken in (like the Pork Herder said before). The LE's usually look new. I dont know why but I like choils. Just my 2 cents.

CG. Purely for economic reasons. Paying too much for a blade cuts into my booze fund.

JW Blue, Green, Gold, and Black ain't cheap (I don't buy the red).

Let's drink!

I am a satin man without a doubt but now that I know I can do that satin myself I'd rather save the coin and get a CG.

I prefer satin but cost can be an issue so it would be nice to see the CG design and cost first. I certainly would not complain about a CG Basic 10 in the family. If we were going to see both, it would be nice to see them together as done with the Boss Jack.

How about competition finish that cost the same as combat grade ?
No need for coating or for the expense of satin finish ?
It should even be cheaper that combat grade.
Take it off the grinder put some rubber handles on it & ship it out, woo hoo cheap beaters around 250.00 :)

+1........
I do not want to pay a high price for something I'm going to beat the crap out of! I very well may not be able to afford the LE, especially considering how close its release will be to AlaskaGanzaaaaa:, and there won't be a CG (AFAIK:confused:)- wish there were... :( So how do I vote for a model that won’t be made - as I would vote CG if it was available?

Edit: I voted CG – primarily because of the price difference LVC noted.

Gotta be a CG for a name like "Basic"!
Bring 'em on Bossman!!!

I agree with all of the above, I think that is where Busse has missed the mark in recent years, by making too many fancy wood handle knives that won't ever be used. Well that and no folder, the "real" basic user. Especially in the current economy, "Basic" users are what is needed. :D

first Cobalt , No the Ducci, wow Old Hogs coming out of the woodwork :)

Were is Jody and John :)

I miss you guys.

I'm voting Satin LE and No Choil.

If you want a coated blade there is the Rodent 9 and maybe a SYKC 911 in the future.

I guess I would vote coated IF I knew the prices and the coated was much lower.

I would prefer Satin LE, Small Choil, to match my Basic 6 LE with normal Choil. Small choil for B10LE for sharpening purposes, and to somewhat match the "look" of other Basic Busse's.

CG for me, but this poll isn't going to change the fact that the Basic line will be Satin with an LE number. It makes financial sense. These are limited runs, so why not make them in them as profitable as possible? I'm sure either way they will sell a bunch. Sure they'd sell a lot more in CG, but I'm sure profit margin on the LE is more than CG.

I wanted the whole Basic line, until I saw the prices. I agree with people above; the Basics are supposed to be inexpensive beaters. But what can you do?

All you can really do is vote with your wallet.
