Just wondering how many of you stay with one knife or rotate your knives on a weekly or monthly basis. For me it keeps it interesting to rotate on a weekly, and sometimes even a daily basis. For the past few years I've kept a selection of six to ten folders of various lengths and styles on hand that I switch through on a regular basis depending on the situation I'm in. I'd like to know if this is a common practice or do you more or less stay with one knife?
Here's my current rotation, from the top:
Boker CLB M Type
Kirby Lambert Inferno
Spyderco Citadel auto
Kershaw Nakamura
Boker Magnum auto
Gerber "Fatty"
Kershaw Chive

Not an actual rotation, but I carry different knives depending. Working and hiking is one knife. A second knife is for everyday jeans pockets. Third knife stays in my bag.

I could probably narrow down my three to a single knife, and it would still last for years and years.

Yup. I rotate between my Kershaw Leek and my Kershaw Needs Work (in my pocket as I type), as well as my Gerber Paraframe. Occasionally carry my Smith & Wesson SWAT, although it's not as useful.

I usually switch daily depending on how i feel.

For the office it's usually a Queen slippie or my dressed up Wharcom, but occasionally i like to throw people off and clip on a BM 615 or my custom 732. I might switch again once i get home and have a change of clothes.

If there is a knife i find myself carrying all the time is my black and white delica....just cant seem to put that darn thing down.

Picking a knife to carry is something i look forward to...:)

Kinda funny that we have "EDC" rotations. Since EDC means Every Day Carry, and we obviously don't carry "it" every day if we are rotating it.

About the only thing I carry every single stinkin' day is my Victorinox Farmer. It gets carried along with whatever Spyderco or Boker I happen to have on me. :)

Here are the knives that I carry the most. I however carry everything I own. No safe queens.

1. Spyderco Paramilitary
2. Spyderco Harpy
3. Spyderco Salt I
4. Spyderco Centofante 4
5. Spyderco Navigator II
6. Spyderco Delica 3 SE (blue) ATS-55
7. Spyderco MOPA Kopa
8. Boker Trance (Drop Point)
9. Boker Wharcom
10. Boker Subclaw

i rotate based on what im wearing or where im going; i have a field knife (BM griptilian), church knife(CRKT ichi), and indoor knife (BM presidio pardue).

I have a number of knives in my regular EDC rotation. For carry to work (in an office) I have a number of small, sheeple friendly pocket folders (Victorinox Signature, Case Mother of Pearl Peanut, French Laguiole) and for weekend carry some larger pocket clips (Kershaw Leek, Spyderco Endura, Benchmade 3550 Pardue) and I pretty much switch off on a daily basis and take whatever I feel like that day.

Knife Rotation depends on what I'm up to & what mood I'm in in the morning. SAK is about the only constant.

As stated already byt others, I don't rotate on a schedule but I change out occasionally however I'm wearing my ZT 0302 most of the time lately. I have over 50 knives but I mainly change amongts 4-5 knives.

while I would love to test out my new mini comm now that Im back going to uni 5 days a week I cant. the consequences for carrying a "weapon" on campus are so rediculous that I dont even take my leatherman to school anymore and I normally keep that locked in the trunk with my emergency implements.

so yes, I rotate between NOTHING and NOTHING pretty much every day T_T

I rotate knives every week or two. Lately I've been carrying a traditional slip joint type knife and a tactical along with the constant LM Micra on my key chain. The traditional doesn't scare people at work or in public. The tactical is for very light and quick cutting tasks but is mainly a back up for the Glock.

Recent traditional rotation:
Case 6.5220 bone stag peanut
Case 6333 natural jigged bone small stockman
Imperial scout knife
Camilus scout knife

Tactical rotation:
Microtech UMS
Emerson folding karambit
Emerson super CQC-7
Spyderco military
Pro-tech Runt

I have been known to carry a few to work, then switch out knives when I get home.... Then if the fam and I leave the house I might change out the knife again, only to come back home, and put another knife in my pocket.

:D

Its really a sickness.

Then some weeks its just one knife over and over. I might just be riding a new knife high, but this Sage is perfect! Kicked my sebbies, out for about a week now. This might change when my Embassy's hit the door step :D Yes two :D

I carry the CRKT Turtle (since I use it as a money clip) and one of these knives each day. If I'm going to work on cars I might grab my Cyclone or M16, if I'm doing out for dinner I'll probably grab the Leek or Nakamura. Depends on what i'm wearing and where I'm going.

I never carry the Finn Bear, it just happened to be in this picture.

i carry either a:

*emerson specwar custom CQC13(most of the time), or a

*spyderco Ti ATR plain edge(2X a week), or a

*emerson CQC12(rarely anymore), or a

*strider drop point SnG w/the digicam(very rarely), as far as folders go.

on the rare occasion i carry a fixed blade its always either a bud nealy amoeba or pesh kebz 5" M2, both with MASS sheaths.

i could live with my spyderco Ti ATR for an only knife and be fairly happy, i really like the design a lot.

About each week I will switch my knife to either a Spyderco, Kershaw, Buck or a Byrd. I find it takes a week or so to be 'one' with the knife.

Nope :)

been forced to change a few times, recently, but not the norm. i carried a cheaper knife while visiting a foreign country whose knife laws i was unfamiliar with. carried it for a week once i got back, then went back to the same knife i had carried for several years my BM710. i carried the CS Recon Tanto a few times just to get used to the whole FB thing while i waited for my Nimravus. now that my Nim's here, i'm back to true EDC

My most common recent EDCs, in order of how much I carry them:

Benchmade 940D2CF
Spyderco Calypso 3 CF/ZDP189
Bradley Mayhem
Benchmade 43MC
Microtech Scarab

I used to EDC my Rukus, till I got my 710... then that was the only knife I carried. Now my Mini Manix goes with me everywhere. I absolutely love the 710. It is one hell of a sexy knife, but the Manix just performs better for me. Every time I think about switching back to the 710, I think about how much more pleasant the Manix is to use, and forget about the 710. The only time I switch is when I need a gentlemen's knife. Then I go with the 710.

I switch daily or at least 3-4 times a week. I always have the Vic Explorer and at least one other knife.

I commonly rotate between...

Spyderco Native S30V PE
Spyderco Claypso Jr ZDP
Spyderco Dragonfly SS PE
Spyderco Kiwi SS
Spyderco Delica FRN PE
