What is your favorite blade length for your everyday folder? This is for utility not defensive purposes.

To me 2.5-3" is most practical because the 3" limit is the most common one in my experience. I like larger knives but they just can't be carried legally in as many places.

My REKAT Carnivour Cub has a blade length of about 3.25 inches, and is just right (for me) as my "utility knife".

Here in Colorado the limit is 3.6", and I'd prefer to stick to it. Unfortunately my current EDC (Boguszewski Cobra) is 3.7". Doesn't stop me from carrying it, but makes me a little nervous sometimes. I'll be glad when my medium (3.25") TnT gets back home.

Hi,

I like a blade in the 3.5-4.0 range, as it is long enough to work well for heavy work. It's also in legal range in most state's. In outdoor knives I tend to favor blades in the 5-6 inch range.

:)

My two favorite knives for EDC are a DDR small Apogee and a Tom Anderson Wolfpup, both with blades that are just over 3". On a practical level, I carry a sub 2.5" folder most often (these days, a William Henry B&T Persian and an A.T. Barr gents folder), so as to stay undebatably within the law at work.

A knife with a blade in the 3-3 1/2' range will do about anything that I need to do on a dailey basis. Certainly no longer that 4".

Call me a typical male making up for deficiencies in other areas, but I like large blades for daily carry.

to me, my mini-AFCK is perfect... it's got a 3.25 in blade length.

any longer would be too intimidating for the sheeple at work  , and any shorter would lose some usefulness.

i just got through removing all of that crappy teflon coating last night... it looks so much better now :) ... just used a scotch brite pad while i watched some TV... much better looking now. :D

I usually have a stockman on me and these don't have blades over 3". This suffices for most of my daily knife chores. I usually keep a few bigger ones in my pick-up truck "just in case"!;)
