Here is a hammer poll hawk that I just finished for a customer. I forged it from 1.5" cable and gave it a curly maple haft. Hope you like it.
 
have you put any of the cable heads thru there paces how does the steel perform

Out of all the hawks I have seen, I think this one is my favorite so far!!
 
Thanks for the comments !!:thumbup: The hawks hold up very well. The cable is from a known source "improved plow steel" basically 1080. They take and hold a great edge. I temper them at 400-425 because I would rather sharpen a hawk a little more often than try to repair a chip.
