EDIT: Some good folks here have slapped some sense into me. Chances are very high this won't happen, but feel free to continue to chime in with ideas, or to tell me how crazy I was to even entertain the notion šŸ˜…

I'm fortunate enough to have obtained a second jigged bone 93 lamb. Since it's my favorite GEC of all time, I thought I could turn the second into a one of a kind. Pictures posted are not my own, but good examples of what I'd like from my poll choices. Feel free to suggest something different!

I'd be reluctant to lose that gorgeous jigged bone, even with a duplicate knife. The replacement covers would have to be REALLY special

Well you guys are no fun, telling me to keep an incredible knife as it is, AND save money in the process?? ;) But honestly, as much as I like to dream about it, the chances of me following through are probably not as high as I'd like to think. As Jack said, it'd have to be extremely special, and the wide variation in the covers I'd want to go with make me reluctant to take the risk. Also, since it's my most carried knife, it makes it the most likely to be lost, so the idea of keeping it as a backup seems a wise choice.

I say a nice acrylic with gold glitter always announces, "Here I Am! Love me!"
Of course not everyone is crazy about glitter so how about a pair of nice stag covers?
Part of my thought process was to keep the covers 'historically correct', since I think this knife deserves nothing less. Stag does seem an obvious choice in that case šŸ¤”

Are you doing the recover job yourself? If not, who's doing it for you?
Not me. I haven't even got so far as to get someone on board. Javi Garcia comes to mind, I wouldn't trust this task to just anyone. This is an idea that's been fermenting in my head for a while now, but I haven't got very far on actually acting on it.

I would pick out the handle slabs and buy them yourself so you know 100% what you are getting before you have it rehandled. I love the original color and jigging of the knife, but if you are going to rehandle I would push for dark blue or dark green camel bone, or giraffe bone. That stuff is absolutely amazing if you get the right pair of handles.

I say find you some sweet mammoth tooth and make it a 1 of 1 if you really want to. I also say this because although the jigged bone is nice I’m not the biggest jigged bone fan 😁
