Poll: How do you carry your SAK?

I can't stand having my SAK sink to the bottom of my pocket so I just put a small plastic clip through the keyring and use that to hang it inside my pocket with the clip hooked over the lip. I use plastic instead of metal because it doesn't get hung up as much so it's easier to pull the knife up and out of my pocket.

Buzzbait... where did you get that carry set up? I can't locate them anywhere! Thanks!!!

I carry my EDV faves, either my Executive or MiniChamp, in my front pocket, for easy deployment and ease of carry.

That method of carry, however, makes it easy for grit and lint to settle into my beloved tools. I'd like to have small, low-profile belt holsters for each knife. Can't afford anything custommade right now, however.

How does the knife detach? Does it stay on the keyring and the keyring comes off the clip? It sounds like a great accessory if this is the case.

I attach the knife to the little clip (I actually upgraded the clip to slightly more heavy duty one, that's hangs lower into my pocket), so I can easily detach the SAK. The split ring also unclips from the belt hanger, so you can access keys if they are attached to the split ring. The belt hanger itself clips onto the belt, so you don't have to undo your belt to put it on. All in all, the Victorinox belt hanger is a superb way to suspend a SAK in your pocket, and is remarkably good in quality for the price. I've been using mine for years without problems.

The Victoinox belt hanger is available from many online shops that specialize in Swiss Army Knives. I don't remember exactly which shop I purchased mine from. Here are a few shops:

Buzzbait: Does your setup using the Vic belt clip scratch the scales? (I don't see any) Thanks

I knew there was something about the texture of the scales in the first picture. Those micarta scales look nice, thanks for sharing.

I carry a Victorinox One Hand Trekker in a simple, comfortable, horizontal sheath I made from a bicycle innertube.

It doesn't scratch my scales. My scales are made of Micarta though. :D

Did you buy a kit for those scales, or make them from scratch?

I just made them from scratch. The channels for the toothpick and tweezers are tricky to make, but the basic scale shapes are very easy to do. All you really need is a dremel, some sandpaper, and some 2-part epoxy.

I carry a Manager II in a key fob like this one. The Manager II is thicker than a Classic, so it's a pretty snug fit. A Midnight Manager II is a little thicker and still fits reasonably well. The Minichamp might be just too big for it though. It's nice to be able to to get it out and use it without the whole keychain dangling from it.

Usually I carry a large SAK in a nylon/ velcro closure belt pouch. A Classic or Minichamp is on the keyring. I rarely carry SAK's in the pocket.

I have carried SAK's since 1970. Usually in a BDU front right pocket with a paracord lanyard. I also keep one wrapped in foam in a buttstock cleaning kit area/pistol grip space of any rifle I have with me. (The foam keeps it from rattling. When in civilian dress, right front pocket, with Benchmade clipped to right, spyderco o-pilot in left, and neck kiss around neck. Works in church too, even with Glock.

Perfect! :D I was avoided this item because I hate belt looped accessories that require you to undo your belt to remove them. I'm glad you posted that little detail. I'm ordering one.
