Hi, Gang.....
I just wanted to see how you would characterize or rate yourself as a Busse fan, especially in relation to other knives..... In a sentence or two.
Myself, I love Busses, but I have a small percentage of customs and productions that I really like as well, but I think Busses are the best made, and the best value for the dollar of high end knives. I‘d give myself an 8/10 due to the fact that I have mostly Busses, but haven't been inducted as a HOG.

I almost own and use Busse knives at all times. If it were not for a couple of SAKs and an Al Mar I had before I knew about Busse, I would own nothing but Busse family blades. I have a few Swamp Rats and a Scrap Yard, but I don't use them. I carry a fixed blade Busse almost everyday and my Rat Trap folder. Jerry gets that darned folder out and the Rat Trap is history. I will probably save the Swampers for my kid to tear up as he gets older. :) I'd give myself a 9.99999 out of 10.

I couldnt rate myself on a scale of 1/10 as I just would not be sure. I do love my busse's I use all but a small few I own. I have really fell in love with the larger ones. I am going to get a tattoo of a busse hog that mymindisamob designed if Jerry says its OK! I have gotten one tattoo of a Scrapyard dog(have posted it on there forum) I love there service and there tools. I am a college student working full time so I could never afford enough to be a hog but I buy what I can when I can and pick em up off of the exchange and that online bidding site as well as other sites. I LOVE BUSSE's but I have a long way to go.....a humble piglet.

Oh ps: I own hundreds of other knives of different brands and many forged customs. Customs are a weakness of mine especially forged blades, they dont beat out my Busses as far as use but they have a place in my collection

6/10-7/10ish, and rising quickly. This IS the only 'production' knife company that I collect from. I do have a sizeable custom knife collection that I started back before I really knew about Busse... Even tripped over the Busse Combat site sometime before... but I'm not a Hell Razor fan, so I forgot about it UNTIL I went looking for that strop that I'd seen...!
I've been hooked ever since my first, the Busse ARK.
I 'lurked' but never posted in these forums for QUITE awhile before assuming my current screenname, 'Jaxx'...And quickly learned that Busse stands behind their product BIGTIME, and as such, has a devoted following of what seems to be some really seriously COOL folks. :D
How's this?? :)
Thx for readin'
Jaxx:cool:

EDITED to add: The Hell Razor was at that time the current advertised Busse Combat knife for ordering. When was that??? :)

...Now, about that strop...! :D

Nothing but Busse.

Okay, a Rat or two.

When I see other knives, I always wonder what Jerry's interpretation of that knife would be.

I'm just getting started myself. I'm waiting on my first and second pieces of INFI. I already have a Scrapper. I don't think I'll swear off of other knives though. I like a lot of customs I've seen and I'm waiting on a Spyderco Manix as well. As great as Busse is, it would be a shame to completely disregard other makers. There's a knife for every job and all kinds of designs out there to appreciate. That's why I'm so interested in collecting them. If there were only one company, I'd buy those knives, but I wouldn't get so excited about collecting in general. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if I found myself carrying a particular brand of knives more often than the others. That brand might just be Busse. I'm looking forward to finding out.

Now... I'd rate my self about 9.5 out of 10.

I use to have a large and extensive collection of Randal's that most have been sold to buy more Busse's. I do have some other customs but 99.999% of what I buy now is Busse

I am as Busse as I can get. Work frowns on fixed blades BIG TIME, so I carry lesser blades there. When not at work, there is always a Busse on my hip or in a pocket. I went from a decent colection of Spydies to a great collection of Benchmade. They both are gone now, replaced by these aweful Ohio blades (mostly Busse, but Swamp Rat is well represented too). The addiction is on going, no end in sight.

I have many other knifes. Their primary use now is as inventory to sell so I can buy more Busses.

I hope to be rid of them all but for a few Doziers and maybe a total of eight folders from Spyderco, Benchmade and Reeves.

On the other hand I have just over 40 Busse Knives, and that number might change Friday night:thumbup: .

Tough to gage. I EDC a Military, a SAK and an AG Russell, a Busse on my belt, and a SJ in my bag. I've got a pile of John Ek's I collected before I started on the Busse addiction. That used to be my idea of a hard use knife, but they ain't INFI, and it shows.

Picked up a couple of khuks from HI, one just replaced the Basic 7 I've had in the truck , I know sacrilege, but if it get stolen I can replace it for a lot less than a Basic anything.

I think 90+% of the knives I own are Busse, but I've lost count :D

My knives are all Rats right now with Busses on the way. It may sound funny but I consider it all 1 company just seperate lines. Only other knife I use on a regular basis is my EDC, an Old Timer 1250. It was given to me new by my dad when I went in the service in 79 and although beat up some now still holds a great edge and does everything I ask of it.

I have to echo what Tony G. said. Gonna sell off my Spydies for funding.

5 'Benzas & a BM710 for folder use. I'll keep a few personalized Spydies too. Maybe I can replace them all someday. I like what I've seen and held so far. Please Jerry.

In addition, I go to shows so I can help out at the booth. I rent a van so I can haul the shop crew and other Busse-ites to Fogo, Boi and K-mart. ;) Shaggi :D

Since I discovered Busse and got my first dose of INFI I've averaged just under one knife (0.8) per month. I guess I'm at least a 8/10. :D

Busse would be my number one company for sure. That being said I still own, buy and use knives from other companies, such as Bark river, Ontario, Tops and ofcourse swamprat..

Most of my knife mopney is definatly going to Busse (and SR) these days though. My current carry knives/ users are a Busse Mud Razor, a Bark River Fox River and a Benchmade CQC7, these are the knives that are with me everyday. I have several other users though.

Paraphrasing ex-president Clinton, "It all depends on what you mean by fan". I love Busse knives, but own very few of them because my wallet cannot keep up with the demand. I own a lot more Rats and even one Scrap Yard. But, if I could afford it I would be giving Porkerson a run for his money! Actually, it is all his fault anyway. He pushed me down this slippery slope a few years back by selling me my first Busse family knife, my much beloved Battle Rat.

I BLAME PORKERSON!

Thanks Eric!

I too blame porkerson. . . .

He pushed me in my locker and stole my lunch money. . .

I refuse to categorize myself, but I do buy primarily Wauseon Blades. . . for myself.
Other people get folders from me for gifts, so I get them Spydercos.

Busse is my favorite knife company also. I consider myself a piglet in training who wants to grow up and be a HOG someday.

I have many other knives and I still use them occasionally (but much less since I found Busse and SWKW)

If Busse made a folder, a SAK, a multitool, a stainless dive knife, more 4-5 inch knives, and different swords like infi claymores, and infi broadswords I would never buy from another company again. But if they added all of this stuff to the rotation I would be a very old man before I ever saw a new Battle Mistress come back around.;)

ive managed to get a bunch of infi the last few months, with a couple going back and forth, and incoming and right back out. i love the process and the commitment everyone has to the product. not to mention the knives themselves.

like others have said, until jerry makes the folder available to us, i will continue to carry my eki's and crk's.

but my fixed blade collection has become almost strictly busse with a couple sr's.

I'm a BIG fan. The only other non Busses that I use all the time are a Leatherman Charge TI, SAK and Spyderco folders. Had a small sebenza but lost it :-(
