ive got these polls figured now though , next time i post one i will just give you guys the options that i want then i can sway the votes my way maybe its not to late to be a politician

siriously looks like the drop point damascus is leading with the fancy scales
so now the exotic scales i kinda like the idea of buffalo or impala but lets have some ideas on different bone , teeth , horn , stone , etc
and it might have been a cool option to have a damascus or titanium frame as well

There are so many good choices for handle material...I do like your idea of the titanium frame:thumbup:.

My choice for the handle on my NS/DM 112 would be ivory...and I would have it checked to match my past just teasing(about my past).

I think that the choices should be open ended...there are many combinations that I think would be great together. Others will think of ones that you and I won't.

Oh yeah, BTW, I want fingergrooves . Preston

Brass, BG-42, drop point and wood (ebony or cocobola) for me please (for the first one at least) unless titanium is an option. A 112 version of the old 560 would be fantastic. Heck, I'd settle for one made from stainless if titanium is out, like my old Camillus EDC.

So far, 93 looked and 8 voted. To me that means about 8.6% success.
Or 91.4% negative/undecided. Depends on how you look at it I guess.
But I'm thinking ~10% hit rate for a retailer for cyber-window shopping is pretty darn good.

i just had a look at the numbers here and like i figured theres not a lot of interest in a 112 run
and the ones that have voted have kind of skewed the figures
20 voters total
18 selected choice of bolsters
26 different blade steels
17 selected blade style
17 selected scale material
as you can see the numbers just arent there for a special run let alone to be offered as a choice in the custom shop (imo of course)

the way the poll options are you can only vote once and its either multiple choice or one choice with a limit of ten options
so to do a proper poll we would need a seperate one for bolsters, one for steel,one for blade type, one for slabs etc

If I was a bean counter from Buck, and looked at the poll as it is now, I'd shut down production of *all* 112's...

If the Buck Fanatic Forum isn't enthusiastic about custom 112's, what chance does Buck have to sell any on the open market...

You know, a more accurate estimate of interest in a custom 112 might be to ask Larry Oden or John Foresman how many BCCI 112's were left over...or how many members had to be turned away due to none left... :thumbup:

Thanks for setting this up Buckman#10......cool idea!!!! I'm not sure what the total number of 112 sales Buck does each year. That would probably be the deciding factor in a 112 custom shop offering. I would like to know how many 110's the custom shop get's orders for.....not the special orders for a few hundred. But, the single orders we do. In addition, I'd like to know how many of the new Alpha's are getting ordered? I wonder if a 112 in the custom shop would also hurt the custom 110 sales?......and on and on and so fourth. I'm glad I just have to decide what knife I want to buy next and not what I could make money from .

i dont think any would have been turned away because some got more than one and isnt the procedure to get every member who wants one theirs first and any left are given first come first served ?

There was confusion on that; especially with the drop-point 110's...some people were posting that they ordered 2 or 3 and received them all at once; others have commented that they were too late in ordering...

Like you, I had thought that single shipments would go out first, then any that were left would go to those who wanted more than one...but some comments here would seem to be contradictory to that...or so I understood them to say...

well that sure sucks because i know of at least a couple that got at least three of the 110s not sure of the 112's
the last i talked with john there was still some of the 107's that hadnt sold

If you look at it from the BCCI point of view, it makes sense...They had to get a committment of whatever percentage they deemed enough to go ahead with the order...so the peeps that committed to buy x number should get them first...ahead of anyone who might say, "if there's any left over, I'll take another"...Somebody has to pay for them, whether they sell out or not...and the peeps who put their money where their mouth is should get theirs first...IMHO...

Buck sure ain't gonna give 'em away...
