p.s. You got me on the Start and stop bits :thumbup: Add two bits on to every byte and you have 1,024,000 bits

That means 1,024,000 / 9,600 = 106,67 secs :p
 
If you use a TFT screen then the resolution is kind of fixed. TFT screens are made to work at the resolution of the LCD matrix (ie if it has 1024x768 pixels then it works best at that resolution) you can configure them to work at different resolutions but they usually give lower performance. eg if you ran a 1024x768 TFT ay 640x480 it would have to start trying to stick pixels together to make the bigger pixels the lower resolution requires. One of the things a CRT it better than an LCD for, CRTs are much more flexible with the resolution settings and give good performance over a number of resolutions.

In answer to the initial quesiton I have a sub notebook with a 10.4 inch screen running at 1024x768 and a 19 inch CRT running at 1280x1024
 
1920x1200 17' inch laptop....Great picture....Nice desktop replacement...
