Kshurika.... obviously I'm not being serious here... :) I, too would let our troops kick the S**t outta anyone who invaded us. never did claim to ever be in the Military, I am a pencil pusher with a desk-job. Used to be in the Beer biz.. I, too love to read... In regards to the porn queens, let a brother have his fantasies:) I did not say I wanted to engage in an itelligent conversation with them... :) *** Ooops, I'm in trouble. My girlfriend saw me writing.*** There is no woman near as smart and Sexy as my girlfriend... (she made me add this, otherwise she says she'll kick my ass.)

Just got bored and thought I'd throw out a (not serious) question.

Mainly, I'd just want to make sure I didn't run out of beer. :)

Oh, yeah... I forgot, I'd bring my dog Ruger along, too. He's a big 'ol ferocious Golden Retriever:) He coud keep watch and lick any intruders on the camp to death....
 
Most of these things I already have. Plus you have to get familiar with new gear I'll stick with my trusty personal stuff.

What Rifle? .243 ...nice range and plenty of power for most things...

What Handgun? Tuarus 7 shot .357 ...great power and .38 for target shooting...

What Shotgun? Moss. 590 ...would have to camo it though...

Which Striders: Have quite a few of these they all go... Plus Mick's Bad Axx and Duane's New Custom.

What Boots? Danner

What Watch? Seiko Kenetic Sports 100

What sleeping bag? Mil-Spec sub-zero down bag

What Clothing? ...depends where my refuge is...(i.e. desert, mountains, marsh, ...)

What Water purification system ? Boiling pot or bromide? or bromine?

What portable stove? Matches and stone-rings

What rope and harness? 2 100ft lengths of 1/2in nylon

Which porn queen? I must agree with Kshurika. I know a few porn queens and would have to opt. for a female with knowledge of the outdoors... She could be a porn queen after we get back to real world.

What Flashlight? Pelican although my Strider Sure-fire looks pretty watertight... Batteries and more batteries....

What lantern? Coleman

What fire starter? Burton Helios and Mag Glass... great answer had to steal it...
What Beer? hmmm dont like beer but as long as it is free I will take two bottles of "Louis XIII" very good stuff for keeping warm...

What food items? MREs I guess and then what ever I can find off the land in this fantasy Red Dawn Land...

Do you see, Iverson, how porn queens cause nothing but trouble? But if you really want to see humanity at its lowest, you have to meet FRIENDS of porn queens! When it occurred to me that I was one of those friends, I decided to go back to reading books. But, by the way, a good Strider OR a Ruger (either canine or mechanical) might come in handy as protection against porn queen friends.
 
well would grab my steyr maahdi AKM folder, w/2 4 mag carrier pouches, a glock 32C handgun, along w/my walther PP .22 pistol for plinking, a buck/strider spear point, gerber mark 2 fixed, leatherman tool, rolex watch, nokia phone, hand held GPS, make my wife tote a M1A w/a good scope, katadyn H2O purifyer, danner boots, woodland BDU's, some gold coins, would go to the nearest pharmacy and stock up on antibiotics, painkillers, etc - theses would be worth there weight in gold, and have plenty of cig liters and good cigars, lotsa glenmorrangie scotch (no mixer req'd lol) and tracy lords for the porn queen

What Rifle? An AR 15 KNIGHTS, BUSHMASTER OR COLT in 5.56 MM and a REMINIGTON Model 700 Mountain Riflr LSS in 7 mm-08 Rem. with a nice scope. You know, to reach out and touch someone. =)

What sleeping bag? Do not know. Something warm, light and packable.

What Clothing? something GORE TEX and well made. Too expensive to buy but if it were free I would look at the choices presented to me at the time.

What Water purification system? The smallest lightest most well made one I could find and some type of chem. water purfication tabs.

What portable stove? Also would pick small, well made and packable with a multi fuel source.

What rope and harness? None

Which porn queen? Too much baggage. A PENTHOUSE would be eaiser to pack and alot less maintainance.

What Flashlight? Weapons light by Sure Fire on Streemlight. An led light like and INOVE W/ the 5 leds (don't klnow the proper name) and Photon 2
What lantern? Would do with out one.

What fire starter? Blast match and a whole bunch of BICs

What Beer? Guiness and I would just get the bottled Guiness with out the "widget" or what ever it is called.

Would not pack food. Maybe a couple of cases of POWER BARS or someting like them and hope to hunt for the rest.

Fellas,on Striders we all have no debate here... Otherwise we'd be on some other section of the forum...

Mick, we all know you would bring Guinness. That also is no mystery... (good on ya for it, though!!!)


Apparently not too many of you want to bring shotguns. (I am no survival expert here, but my guess is that a shotgun would be a good choice, (even in a "Red Dawn") situation. While I agree with Kshurika on his view that a porn queen is not really considered "survival gear" , I, myself, wouldn't mind having one in my knapsack (nutsack?) I am just amazed that some people have not added a shotgun to their "what if" list.

I would think the ability to knock down birds in flight, rabbits on the ground, etc... plus the fact that our particular MAKE BELEIVE sporting goods store we are raiding, has EVERYTHING.. including sabot slugs for our 12 guages.. would make a shotgun one of MY choices...

Anyway, you all have not only entertained me in the reading of this post,,,, But HAVE DAMN F*****G GOOD TASTE IN KNIVES!!!!
