My 0560 has up and down blade play and it was like this out of box. I tried to see if it would work itself out but it hasn't so I'm going to send it in soon.

Where's the "I have dainty fingers and can't open my knife" option?

Unbelievable, some people.

Why put quotes around "heavy"?
Because that was the complaint. Like yours. You not being able to fully use a perfectly dialed in flipper. It's always the knives fault.

BTW, just because only 40 have been returned does NOT mean that only 40 had issues (whatever that means). Some folks (like me) get very busy and find that packing up stuff and schlepping with it to the PO is a PITA and so we don't do it and just put up with the issue(s) instead.
Yes big V I understand, and thanks for pointing that very important point. You really are an astute gentleman.

I just thought it would be relevant to tell you what we've seen from a factory perspective. I apologize if that wasn't quite enough for you.

Not just Kershaw but a couple other companies too seem to have had a run lately of guys that seem to take personally issues with knives that I can't see even with pictures taken with good equipment magnified 25 or 50 times. There are always a few who see the things too, and talk about how offended they would be too if theirs showed the same problems.

Anybody who disagrees or varies from the groupthink is labeled a fanboy and is therefore incorrect in his responses no matter what advice or help is offered.

It's just not enough now to produce extremely competent knives with near perfect grinds, alignment, function, and top shelf heat treats and materials.Accuracy and QC that really shows advancement over even 6-7 years back. Even being backed up by the best W&R in the business means nothing because asking someone to send a knife in to be examined, and even lab tested if necessary is too much to ask.

Perhaps knife companies should have on call psychologists or trained counselors to deal with these obviously traumatic knife purchases. :(.

5 or 6 years back we had a few guys around that had obvious grudges against individual knife companies and they would lurk waiting for an opportunity to start some s#!t but it's gone way beyond that.

All this talk of people with large entitlement issues seems to have a ring of truth.

No issues on mine except for maybe an uneven grind at the tip as others mentioned, but, shaving sharp out of the box so not really a complaint.

I just got got one yesterday. A LNIB one. I love it. No issues at all! I also love my Tilt and Speedform, etc.
I find over the last year or two I have bought more Kershaw/ZT folders than any other brand.
I like the constant excellent designs, inovations, and Quality.
I also like that Thomas takes his time to attend the Kershaw forum here and deal with us all personally.
He shows a great deal of patience IMHO. I often read these sort of threads and shake my head and move on. Having worked in high tech manufacturing for the last 26 years I have seen the difficulties that come and how hard it is to make a product come to market and be "PERFECT".
I feel that Kershaw and ZT have done a great job at bringing new knives to the market and keeping the quality and standards high. When issues do arrise they have taken care of them very quickly and happily.
I am just not sure what threads like this accomplish. We know the knives are good and we know that if there is an issue we will be taken care of. Beyond that, this seems like an opportunity to gang up on the kershaw rep and complain.
Not my way I guess. I do not say this to offend but to just say how I feel about these type threads.
Enjoy your knives and stop whining.

Let me preface this post by saying that Thomas and Co put out a fantastic product. I had an early 0560 with early lockup and absolutely flawless action in every respect. My 0561 had the sticky lock bar which developed into this

It was sent in to the warranty dept and is now in the hands of its maker(s). So in the spirit of honesty and to answer the OP's question..... Yes my 0561 has an issue (IMHO) Issues happen, what takes a company from being good to being great is how it handles said issues. The faulty 0561 I received will absolutely not detract me from another ZT / Kershaw purchase.... Know that. I think (once again only my opinion, don't roast me for it) A poll such as this one doesn't reflect poorly on the 056x, see how many people are completely satisfied vs how many have a legitimate issue and are unhappy. I am of the opinion that a company should have its finger on the pulse of its product(s) via a feedback mechanism. Apologies Thomas, I'm pretty sure it's not exactly what you want to hear but in the long run polls like this bring out support for your products and customer service. That support by far outweighs any negative implications, which in turn makes me feel secure handing over my $$ for another purchase.

My ZT 0560 had no real issue(s). There was only the sticky lock that was remedied and over time/use; and it is no longer a problem. Love the 0560!
