i own a couple spyerco's (a couple delicas, and a spyderfly).
i like the looks of the polliwog, looks "unique".
ball bearing lock up looks cool.

anyone own a polliwog? pros and cons?
at almost $100, its not "cheap", so I wanted some feedback.

I bought one just because it was kinda unique looking. Once I got the knife I really like it. It's wider closed than you would think, but it's slim and the lock is very secure. It's one of my favorite folders.

pros: "different" unique design, very strong lock, great ergos in hand, low-rider wire clip
cons: sits kinda wide in the pocket .... kinda heavy for it's size....like a big slab of steel in your pocket; the balllock is difficult to disengage for some folks
hollow grinds and spine swedges are all up to you ;)

Unique design. Nice blade and good blade steel. Good cutter and comfortable in the hand. It does sit wide in the pocket. When you reach for keys, change, etc., you know it's there. I like the ergos as the choil and finger cutouts make it comfortable to hold and use. It also doesn't intimidate non-knife people as much either because of it's small size. When it is laying on a table closed, people ask what it is as it doesn't look like a pocketknife. When I open and show it to them they are surprised to see that it is a knife. But again because of it's design and size, they often want to handle and play with it.

Pro's: Very cool and very classy and unique looking. Very dense all steel knife, I like the heavier weight, suprising for a small knife. Very adequate wide blade with a good amount of cutting edge, it really fits the definition of littel big knife. Very comfortable to hold with several grips and the finger choil lets you choke up on the blade. I want to see more ball locks on more knives, I really like that lock, very out of the way, easy to use, and strong. It is cute, not scary looking at all, and it attracts positive and curious attention because it doesn't look like a knife. Great steel, and great contstruction. I am not sorry at all for buying one.

Cons: for its small size, it is very wide when closed. You might want to put it in a back pocket instead of a front as it will get in the way reaching in for keys or spare change.

One thing I would change: jimping or other texture on the back of the blade for more control. Its small and easy and comfortable to lay your index finger on the back of the knife blade for control...a little extra texture would be a plus.

First impression when I saw one: This is different (said skeptically)
First impression when I held one: SUPRISE! quality, uniqueness, and usefullness, all in one place.

I carried mine today! I usually carry it in my back left pocket.
It is rather wide for such a small blade length but is rather unobtrusive in my back pocket. It has a very high gadget factor as most people have never seen a ball bearing lock.

I say get one!
