Any progress or news on the polo Suspect 2 shirts? Did Derek ever get back to anyone on using the EKI logo?

I had contact with Derek, who was on headed out on a week long business trip. When he returns, he will take it up with Ernie Emerson. I Kindly informed him that if Ernie had any concerns, I would simply set aside the project.

... More to Come,

Seth

Black EKI polos would be a welcome addition to any wardrobe.

Maybe the answer to potential copyright conflict is to get EKI shirts and add additional Usual Suspect graphics to them?

I was thinking the same thing.

Gentlemen,

I've been doing pre-production research on cost, embroidery, graphic production, etc.

One option that I'm working up this the production of embroided patches. The same level of quality of police uniform patches. The advantages of the police patch idea are several:

1. Lower cost, a embroidery style logo on a a decent polo shirt will run $22 - $27 production cost alone. Lower quanities drive up the price. Patches would be about 1/4 the cost.

2. More versatile; put your patches on any gear; even stapled them to your forehead. Black Polo shirts are premissable

3.Quite frankly, less hassle for myself. With shirts, size and fit can be a problem. one size fits all with the patch idea.

4. If we need to make a "Usual Suspect" only logo, sans any reproduction of EKI logo type, the patch could be sewed onto a EKI produced polo shirt.

So, how about some feedback? Gotta have the shirt? or is the patch idea a decent alternative?

The patch idea is very cool as well and since I am usually never caught without some sort of Multi-Pocket Vest on, that would be the way you folks could spot me in Atlanta...Doctor Sinister in a black vest with lotsa pockets. And a nice sized patch that has the Emerson Logo on it with "Usual Suspect."

I don't see why Ernie would not OK any of these ideas as they are just among us and since we would control it, no one is going to make a dime off of it.

By the way, I cannot find a damned excellent vest to save my ass. I have Robertson's Vest and it needs a patch to cover the embroidery. [GAK] a black permanent magic marker has subdued it for the time being...anyways...

The Royal Robbins Vest is plain, vanilla ice cream. I need a good one, but nice and light like Robertson's.

I despise sitting on a wallet. It makes me physically ill and puts far too much pressure on my brain. :D

The patch idea is cool and I don't anticipate Ernie shooting down the project. If he does, so be it. But I don't see it happening anyway.

On another sidebar issue...

I have a Bladeforums Knife Bag that is pretty cool, but I am looking for better...TripleAughtDesign has a very good looking one.

I took the plastic, Wisconsin Patch (read: cheesey) Logo off of it with a very sharp knife. It was only sewn on and not glued or heated/adhesive.

So, I could use a patch for whatever bags I use as well.

Hell, some trolling fool might even catch the patch on my range bag at "On Target" in Severn, Maryland and try to shoot me or something, might make life exciting.

I can see it now, "Liner locks fail, POW POW POW POW..."

With some of the near pathological hatred of Emerson, who knows. :D

Yeah, someone who REALLY has a (pivot)screw loose. Someone who's a stripped screw short of a set. Or just some guy who woke up with his blade rubbing on the wrong side of the liner. :D

i think I like the Traveler's Vest (Charcoal) better, it looks like it has more pockets for all of these knives and LED Lights and other gadgetry I'm fond of. :D

I could go for a Polo Style shirt, you know for "formal" types of occasions also it would compliment my other EKI shirts that i'm starting to collect :)

I had a couple of different patches (club crest & sponsor logo) made for my old rugby club- I'll try to find the info. I found folks who do good work cheap (best price guarantee). I'll see if I can find their info.

LMFAO!! :D

I like the patch idea for knife bags, heck maybe EKI will come out with thier own for that matter!

I'm not a big "Patches on shirts" kindo guy. I'd prefer an embroidered Polo, even secondary embroidery on an EKI Polo (that would take care of the "size" issue.

Don, I have a great vest, light weight and great looking OD-ish color. (I used to wear a Khaki "Banana Republic" Vest, but it's was so damn heavy!) A buddy of mine picked up an "S" load of them in a mess of colors, including Black. I think he sold most or all of them at a pretty decent price. I'll forward this string to him in case he has any left or can get any more.
