Pommel Cap on stag carver handle

Shape your butt cap to fit the stag. Weld or braze a short tang to the butt cap depending on what material you use. Cut a recess for the short tang into the stag. Epoxy cap into place and let epoxy set. Drill pin hole through handle and short tang (smaller pilot hole first). Epoxy pin in place and grind fush to handle.

Forseeable problem may be the blade tang being too long and not allowing you enough depth for the cap's tang. As mentioned repeating the spacer treatment at the guard would be best practice.
