Ponchos

definitely wouldn't drag a sil poncho on the ground. They are made to minimize weight and sacrifice toughness to attain that goal. Some of the heavier duty polyurethane coated nylon ponchos might be up to the task, bit stick to uses where you won't abrade the fabric with sil.
 
A USGI military poncho is great for keeping dry and making shelters, but in Georgia humidity in July they really make you sweat because they don't breath at all.
