I forged this years ago and have had it hanging in my shop ever since. In an organizing afternoon I rearranged a bunch of things and thought someone might just like to have this. I'm not sure of the use of these small hawks but they are easy to carry for the reenactment folks and it does look good hanging on the wall
I forged mild steel over a high carbon bit to for edge holding
The edge is an axe profile
Length of the head, including the spike is 6 inches
Cutting edge is about 2 3/4 inches
Haft is 16 1/2 inches curly maple with several coats of boiled linseed oil. A deeper and darker color on the haft could be added with more layers of linseed oil mixed with melted bee's wax and lots of rubbing to work it in.
I have made a simple leather edge guard, no belt loop because hawks are traditionally carried under a sash or belt
SOLD delivered within our United States
Again; scams are here so do not pay a request unless my name is clearly on the address
