Pony Jack GAW - WE HAVE A WINNER !

I'm confused..
Me too :confused::confused:
If I am understanding it correctly, an entry is an entry whether you buy something or not.
If you buy something and win you get a credit equal to your purchase for your next purchase.
If you don't buy anything, your credit for your next purchase is $0.00
The purchaser gets an actual prize, while the non-purchaser gets nothing. I guess there is no need to enter if you are not buying anything, but you can if you want to.
That can really cut down your chances of winning anything if you are a purchaser. The non purchaser can dilute the purchasers chance of winning. At least there will be a winner though. Is this correct?

My intention is to give away the Pony Jack. If you don't like the PJ or have one already, I will allow substitutions to be made upon agreement between the winner and myself; I am only trying to protect myself from any litigation. Thanks for asking! :)

Yes, this is correct. In this litigation happy society in which we live, there is always someone looking to gain something unjustified. I am simply trying to give away a Pony Jack to a deserving customer while protecting myself from a lawsuit. If the winner is a non-purchaser, another number will be drawn, etc. until a winner is declared for the Pony Jack. I hope this clears things up! :)

It is not my intention to break any laws; if I have, I do so unknowingly.

Ah I see, I got confused because it says GEC boys knife in the thread title. But it's a pony jack, which I actually find much more appealing.

:)

Yes, Paul. It is the 68 pattern and not the 15. My mistake as it isn't actually a Boy's Knife but has the steel frame and bolsters. :)

I think it's a good idea to promote your business by entering customers in a drawing for a store credit.
I also understand paying dealer members here can be referenced in this forum, and that your membership helps the forum.

I don't however like the way this was presented here. This is not a giveaway for the regulars here, it's for your customers only.
I am sorry that the Traditional Forum here is now open for dealers to start threads that do nothing but promote their businesses. There is a dealer section in "The Knife Exchange" for that. Personally I think that is where this belongs.

I wish you well with your business, and go ahead and enter me in the running for the "zero store credit" prize. That will buy me everything in your store I am interested in.

Thanks.

OK, I'm receiving way too much flak on this GAW as apparently I may have unintentionally broke some forum rules. In light of this new information, I am going to end the GAW at Midnight, Sunday August 4, 2013. I will draw a random number and post a winner on Monday 8/5/13. I am truly sorry if anyone is upset. :o At this moment, there are 15 entries and one of them is going to win the Pony Jack, but I will leave the 'contest' open until midnight Sunday for any that wish to enter.

In light of this new info, my next GAW will be for forum members only with no strings of any kind. :D (But it probably won't be a new knife. Yikes!) :grumpy:

This is outside the field of expertise of the moderators of this forum. Neither of us is a lawyer.

JC, discuss this with Barry via PM and stop posting in the thread.

Congrats on the new business venture. Good luck. Count me in, please.

Not an entry, but congrats on going green:thumbup:
Great job on the website too! Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

I'm confused as all heck. Anyone can enter, but only a past customer can win?

Regardless, I wish you the best luck in your new business. I checked out your website and love the selection. It seems that every GEC dealer has a different selection of knives on hand, creating a sort of treasure hunt for shoppers. The more places to hunt, the better. ;)

Likewise, I'm pretty lost now. Good luck with your new online store buddy, you have some awesome products that will sell sharpish I'm sure! :)

I just want to say thanks for posting this thread and doing a GAW. I already have this knife so I'm not interested, but it's very cool of you to do this so thanks!

That knife hits a lot of my sweet spots. Equal end, Ebony, and a straight spear.

Nice.

Barry, off to a bit of a shaky start but it IS a start and I know you'll have figured out a thing or two by doing this !

As I coined this phrase at work for the people I trained "Don't let your learning curve turn into a Circle" ;)

And I'm in for this give away, looks like an excellent folder there.

Best of luck to all,
G2
