After choosing which knives I wanted to order and checking 3 different online stores the one with the best price was thebladeshop.com, so I ordered from them. I placed the order Dec. 5. I then emailed them a couple of times just to make sure they had everything in stock that I was ordering, but they never returned my emails. So, after seeing my credit card get charged and not hearing anything at all back from them by Dec. 11 I gave them a call. When I did I was told that my order had been shipped off on Dec. 8th. Ok, not exactly shipped within 24-48 hrs like they said they would on their website, but ok, that is fine. Well, after spending the last 3 afternoons waiting axiously for the package and not seeing it I called again and this time they told me that my package went out yesterday (Dec. 14) The person I talked to on the phone this time was curteous and helpful and I do believe that this time the package has actually been shipped...but it still pisses me off that someone told me my package was shipped when it wasn't. Anyway, just had to vent. Hopefully this was just a screw up on their part and not normal practice, but just thought people should know. If I had read a post like this previous to ordering I would have gladly paid $4-5 more to order from someone else that would really get my package to me in a timely manner.

Man, I wish I would have seen that. The search I did on this forum only gave me a couple comments on them and they were both possitive. I guess I need to do better searches. But, it does look like some people get decent service, guess I was just one of the unlucky ones.

I ordered a set of Boker steak knives on 11-9 and saw my credit card was charges, but no knives arrived. The web site kept saying "Order Pending". I emailed and received no feed back, but within an hour my order status was changed to "Backordered". I called and finally got through and the gent could not tell me when it would be in stock, but it would be after the first of the year. When I do get the knives it will be my last transaction with those folks.

I should have checked out thebladestore.com before ordering. They have not respoded to ant calls, or emails. They have a TERRIBLE rating at the Better Business Bureau with many complaints...

Warning: Stay away from thebladeshop.com

I just spoke to Benchmade. They claim that he is not even an authorized Benchmade dealer.

Don't even bother e-mailing this company. You will never get a response.

First time posting, unfortunately it had to be in this thread.

Nice to meet everyone,

I too bought from the thebladeshop . com. Worst experience I have had buying anything online. It's very unfortunate for them, because they have a very nice website, easy to navigate, and they guarantee the best prices.

I ordered almost a month ago. My account was charged instantly, and email for status of my order, since most places don't charge until product is ready to be shipped. I was told the item was on backorder and it would be one to two weeks before it would be shipped.

Emailed dave at Protech, and he assured me that what I had ordered wasn't on back order, and I shouldn't have any problem getting the knife.

I waited the 2 weeks anyway, and nothing. Order status menu still said backorder. I emailed them, they replied with a "thank you for your patience it should be any day now".

I emailed everyday now, and wanted a follow up. They told me they could recomend something simular if I would like to do that, so I said sure to you have this...No that is on backorder too. Waited another week and a half, and emailed them asking for status. They said they would send it out in 24hrs. Waited over 24 hours, asked for status and traking. They responded they shipped it out yesterday, and would be giving me my tracking number by the end of today.

We shall see. My order still says IN PROGRESS on there website. I wish I had that knife company. They really are ruining something that could really have been a nice little internet company.

Well that's my experience so far, and still don't have my knife. However, it is a recent experience for those that are brighter than me, and research companies before they buy.:grumpy:

Still haven't recieved my tracking number, and after sending them some false threats, which was a bit childish, but managed to get a response from it either way.

The owner replied he sent out the knife which I never recieved, as well I have incurred another 20.00 charge to my account, that makes 2 charges by thebladeshop .com, yet never recieved the knife.

STAY AWAY, they are con artists.
