See the owl eye an beak?!
Poplar set 1.9 ounces. See the owl eyes and beak? 5 ¼ x 2 inches wide x a thin ¼ thick. Dyed and stabilized hand selected wood to bring out this pattern. A tad thin for most full size blades, could be laminated, used on big folder or another application. (box lids etc). $46

Winter will be here soon in Alaska. I spent much of the summer boating the rivers, looking for interesting wood to by gas! Traveling by boat is saying "One dollar two dollars ...." it's about $10 an hour to run a boat. Caught a lot of fish..... but that time ends. Now I look forward to more shop time. That means cutting up dry season wood from previous years. Much goes in the wood stove to heat the shop. Now and then I come across one ounce in 1,000 pounds that is 'amazing' has character , stands out. The owl face above is one. If I do not sell it I may use it and try to keep the owl face in a handle. But hope someone else like the idea.

Above and below. I stabilized a large block, as in 3 pounds. I know a few duck decoy carvers. I wanted to know if I cold get the resin to penetrate, so chose spaulded wood that was fairly soft and it took the resin I dye to the core.

Spaulded birch block 3 pounds. 4 ¼ x 41/2 x 4 inches. Good for carving project , decoy carving, boxes, making your own shapes to suit a project. Stabilized and dyed. Wood started out soft, color resin had good penetration. $100 (could be cut into at least 6 sets of knife scales)

Below are some pictures of other items I have on the same page

All are on my web site bottom of this page

I've got 9 buildings and 5 wood stoves to feed so go through a lot of wood in winter! I see a lot of cool patterns, hope you enjoy them too, have a good winter everyone!
