I won't own a Spyderco Manix. I did have one and it was truly 100% the perfect knife for me and as such it was ungodly boring to carry and use. I could not wait to sell it and buy something else. Screw perfection, give me interesting.
I feel almost exactly the same way about my Manix. It is perfect, but it's also really boring. I can't figure out why I can't get attached to my Manix. It's so good- but I can't fall in love with it. I think it's because it's so wide when closed. You can't close your fist around it when it's closed. The boring factor is the reason I haven't picked up a Sebenza yet. Yes, they're nice, but don't do a thing for me.
As for popular knives I don't have- I have no Sebenza, no Strider (except for Strider-Buck), no Mora, Benchmade Griptilian, Spyderco Native or Busse. Though I intend to remedy my Busse deficiency soon. (the FBM is so badass)
I'd really like a Darrell Ralph custom- though I don't know if he's on the list.
I have pretty much everything else on the "popular list".
