Pork....Chop?

Awesome!!!

While I haven't used my Pork Chop extensively yet (SO wish it would have arrived 2 weeks earlier, grr...), I have cut a decent amount of wood for a couple backyard campfires with mine so far.

Your comments about the cutting action mirror my experience. The heel of the blade (beard) cuts much more powerfully, especially if you intentionally angle your chops so that it hits there first.

I wish it was a tad bit longer as well for a little more leverage. I think with a slight bit of edge thinning, it will perform quite nicely overall though. As is from the factory, on various woods, I would say it stacks up pretty similarly to my (much thinner) mil overrun KDSH (the one you cut the car in half with). With a bit of edge optimization, it will be a real winner IMO! Mine will see a ton of camping use! :D

A little more Pork Chop porn if you don't mind me adding some. :)

Oh no!!! You serious?! Does it really perform on par with the KDSH?? It really shouldn't given its mass and weight distribution. . . Unless the edge and the shoulders are that much thicker. Either way --- I'll definitely be optimizing my pork chop when I get it. Factory is great --- don't get me wrong, but I want MOREEEE

Not as fast as the devil, but hit's a lot harder.

Quick in and out, devil.

Going into to f^ck stuff up. Stay for a bit, cut down a communication tower, chop

Thanx Oge...always a pleasure to watch your work..:cool::cool::cool:

This was awesome to see and read the comments...

I love this line..."stay for a bit, cut down a comms tower, chop"....classic "Busse British" humor....

Haven't really used it much since I put the guard on. However, I put a nearly identical one on my Battle Saw, and it's held up quite well under a bit of use. Remind me to get back to you in about a year, lol.

That's my current honest opinion. I'm sure a slightly thinner edge with blended shoulders will make ALL the difference. The edge and shoulders on the Pork Chop are both quite a bit thicker than the KDSH. Plus, keep in mind that I'm comparing it to a KDSH that already had a thin, (mostly) razor-sharp, mirror polished edge on it, so it's not quite apples to apples. Sorry, probably should have mentioned that. My standard M.O. is to use the factory edge for a little while, and then optimize with a nice convex, mirror-polished edge on the belt grinder, and knock back thick shoulders if needed. I know of all people, you know the difference that those changes to the edge can make! ;)

LOL, awesome description!!! Mil Overrun KDSH = quick, fast, light. Pork Chop = hard hitting, robust, beastly. :D

Appreciate guy's. I do like beating the hell outta stuff. Hopefully soon there will be some video's.

Jerry am I covered?lol

That's awesome! Thanks for documenting the mayhem.

Finally took my first kin (grab bag) out for a break in. Collected a few loads of fire wood from the front yards of some neighbors. There is all sorts of wood piles since Irma came through. At least every other house has one. The Pork Chop was by far the most useful. Still having problems posting pics, so here's some imgur links.
