no time signature I'd guess that's a more than a 1/2 mile.

Declerating from max speed to 0 in the shortest amount of time, which do you think would win? :D

3 way tie.

Yup---all depends on the distance---1/4 mile drag race the bike wins every time. The longer the distance each comes into their own.

I know a lot of motorcycles have a pretty darn high top end.

But when that porsche started catching the bike it was like he was standing still.

A Kawi ZX-14 would have been a much different story---they come off the showroom floor doing 8-9 second quarters-----and have the top end too.

Unmodified bikes are factory governed to 186mph----plus at those speeds the bike rider will be severly hampered by the 2 wheels and no protection.

In the first half mile it was the bike, next half mile it was the Porsche, after that it was the jet all the way.

An interesting aspect:

Jet fighter airplane: only the government can easily afford.
High-performance Porsche: any upper- or upper-middle-class American can afford
Hayabusa motorcycle - any high school kid with a job can afford

:)

Problem with the HS kid is he can afford the bike---but the yearly insurance premiums are as much as the bike---so in effect they can't afford one.

What's crazy is when I traded my Kawi 600 for a Suzuki 1200 Bandit---my insurance went down from $212yr full coverage to $196yr full coverage----being old has some advantages----lololololol.

I imagine the Hayabusa insurance would be a bargain compared to the Porsche or jet fighter insurance. :)

being old has some advantages
My Volusia insurance is about $50/year, so riding a paid-off cruiser also some advantages. :D Our three bikes combined are $200/year (Wife has one that's not paid off yet). But none of ours' could race a jet aircraft either. :(

FYI - Runway length in video estimated at 1-2 miles (5-10,000 ft). Likely over 7,000 ft. My guess, having seen a few of them as a commercial pilot.

Haven't watched the vid, but the scene in Top Gun had TC racing a jet on take off on his bike. Seems to me a friend had a KZ 11 something or other in the late 70's, early 80's that supposedly could out accelerate ANY jet at take off  ... Don't know why he is still alive! :D
But he did get smart and traded it in for BMW 65R/S...

Given all that, the Porsche isn't designed to accelerate from a standing start, but once it gets a going, it's something to behold...

Put them all on an aircraft carrier and launch them and it will be a draw to the end of the flight deck.

It depends on the Porsche too!

A 911 Turbo can make 0-60 in 3.9 and can outrun MOST motorcycles in the half-mile.

Edit: Just watched it and WOW! The bike had the commanding lead and then the Jet looked Bad-ass!
