Possible BK-2 mods?

I doubt the ESEE5 sheath will fit. Judging from the photos on the ESEE website, it looks pretty form fitting to the ESEE5 blade, but I'll ask Jeff and see what he says. The ESEE 5, though similar, probably has enough blade shape difference to make it a off fit. The ESEE5 seems to come to more a point and not as wide at the tip as the BK2. Another thought is to drill and rivet the BK2 sheath to fit the pouch. Have fun and post pics of your trip, we love to see Beckers tearin' it up in the outdoors. Moose

I'm not much of a picture guy, but I will take a camera along just in case something worth shooting pops up. Knowing my luck, I will make camp on top of a hibernating black bear with cubs, and I'm sure you would all love to see me running for my life (in HD!)... I'll do my best.

As for riveting... The border of the sheath is actually INSIDE the screw hole for the sheath. The BK2 sheath converges sooner than the ESEE 5 sheath (I am assuming, otherwise the pouch doesn't fit the damn knife it is made for, either). If I rivet anything, it would be the pouch and backing, but seeing as how it is made of nylon, that doesn't sound too fun... Any fixes would be appreciated, I like this setup, it just doesn't fit the damn knife. If the ESEE 5 sheath fit, it would be a start, but I am starting to think you are right, they just have two different profiles...

Convex, yes. Strip, no, not IMO. Convexing it greatly improves performance. I do not believe that stripping it would greatly improve performance, whereas it WOULD greatly increase corrosion. Not a big deal in a using knife, but IMO stripping it reduces it utilitarian nature, which is its forte, IMO.

Mike with ESEE says it might fit the old cordura sheaths, but not the new kydex. Different profile. Moose

Here is an image of the stippling I did on mine, it really does improve the grip greatly!
