Looks like a Franken=Sebenza.
The lock side looks very much legit, but the thumb stud looks totally wrong.
Would be nice to see a pic of the entire blade, because it looks to be fake by the thumbstud.
And that's definitely a homemade CF scale and back spacer.

This....the blade may be legit but someone went to an awful lot of work to destroy the real thing.

The knife's fine, guys...no one ruined it, sheesh.

It has been modified...looks like a hand rubbed finish on the blade, aftermarket (likely BM) studs, and aftermarket CF scale and backspacer.

Not stock, but looks like a great knife, should be ready to put to work. 👍🏻

Although he does need a new clip screw. :p

Good to know,, I would be bummed out if he had gotten ripped off.

Thanks so much guys!

I still say that blade looks a little suspicious. But the jimping does look more legit in the last pic.
If it is real, it looks to have been polished or something.
If he has an allen wrench, have him take it apart and see if there's a V cut into the blade by the pivot.

Jumping looks normal to me, though possibly sanded to match the spine crowning. The jimping has changed through the years.

Looks real with some mods done.

ThE thumb stud looks like the same ones that Are on the Griptilian. They have that torx bit and unthread/thread to each other.

It might have an S cut into the blade, too. If its a franken-benza, the blade might be from earlier than 2011, and still be S30V. The only knife I have with the older jimping (like in this picture) is a 2010 S30V.

How hard would someone have to sand the blade to make it look like it wasn't stonewashed? I haven't ever altered a finish before.

I have enough doubt that I would stay away from it if it was for sale..Especially online sales.

I love to see folks customize their gear. I dig the looks all but the thumb stud. The only thing I don't understand is why you would trade out a titanium liner for G10? If you customize a knife with a G10 scale, at least put a metal liner on the inside. I bet that knife is still pretty dependable, but the performance and reliability is much less. I have a phobia of all things glass filled/polymer/resin/nylon in any high stress application involving a knife or gun.. I have always felt this way. It may be well designed, light weight, and a tough durable material. However, I will always worry that the polymer or glass filled nylon etc. will fail where steel or titanium will not. Like the Glock. I would have to swap the standard frame for a CCF raceframe in stainless to trust it. I would never trade a metal 1911 frame for a polymer or plastic frame. I have seen carry revolvers with polymer frames integrated into metal frames, parts etc... Just example(s) of good or bad engineering or execution, and how certain materials perform under adverse stresses and conditions. I guess it is nice to have fun with gear and change things up sometimes as well... I love the look of some G10's. That knife still looks like it would make a great EDC. And I guess you wouldn't really have much worry about it getting a battle scar with no battle either haha. Good stuff.
