Hey guys,

A friend found a Little Giant 25 for $2,500. I'm just starting to set up my shop and a power hammer wasn't on my list (this year) but it looks like a good deal.
Rebuilt 5 years ago with very little use sence then. New dies included.
What do you think?

You can sometimes find them cheaper, but they usually need lots of work.

I'd jump on that with all four feet!!!

It's a bad deal. I would walk away from it. Matter of fact, send me the name, address, and phone number of the seller and I'll drive up to MD tomorrow and tell him what a bad deal he is offering ;)

Seriously, it looks like a super deal. You will never loose any money on it.

You are right as always Stacy, and with all the help you have given me I'll drop it off for you:rolleyes:

I sent this picture to Sid at Little Giant and he thinks it looks good from what he can see. The seller will send more pics in the Morning. I'll post them and if you see anything please let me know.

Thanks

It's a latter style with an imporoved ram guide, and has a cell block. Those are two very good features.

Looks like a nice hammer to me, too! A later model, has the sow block on the anvil and the newer style ram and toggle arms. Already retro fitted for an electric motor, too. If you can marginally afford it, I'd get it. Might want to see whether it's set up for three phase or not...

Yup, it's a nice later tool. Sometimes you can do better on the price ... but I wouldn't sell it for less than that.

Yeah, "marginally" is a key word here. However as I have learned here these hammers are getting harder to find in good condition so if everything checks out I'll pick it up.
Thanks everyone for all the info and encouragement.

Eric,

From what I've seen and read without more photos. I'd say your right in the money for this hammer. If it was me and Sid, plus Don gave you the thumbs up I'd not hesitate.

Eric, that looks awesome! Very good find:thumbup: I think you'd be more satisfied knowing that you did NOT let that one get away.

I say that is a 3 pointer at the buzzer! You will kick yourself if you let it get away. I searched almost two years for an LG or a tire hammer that was in good condition and close enough for me to pick up. Like has been said you will not loose money on it!
