Nice little knife, and pics of your dogs are always appreciated, but I do NOT like that slug. I stepped on one pretty close to that size barefooted once, and the damn things have given me the creeps ever since.

It's a thing. My girlfriend is the same way. She gags at the thought of a slug. Of course I bring the topic up often. :D

Yeah Pit I'm with you. My Gossman UNK is really ideal for everything I've needed a knife for. I think it'll be the perfect knife for summer hiking. You know, when it's so dry it's hard to NOT start a fire. I've been good with just a folder in the past but a small fixed blade makes more sense I think.
 
Nice one Pit. Though I almost always have a folder on me I also almost always have at leas a small fixed blade as well. Very handy little pieces of gear.

Like Bill said, whatever knife you have on you is going to do you more good than any knife you left behind. Since most of us spend time where large knives are impractical for one reason or another it's good to see just what all you can do with a smaller one.
