I have a beautiful French sword,brass handle,straight single edge blade 22.75" long,no scabbard,no rust,some very light pitting and dark spots throughout,unsharpened original edge.It would look great on a wall.Please email me for pics.
PS.I took a careful look again,it has almost zero pitting and the black spots could be easily buffed to nice shiny condition.
