I finally posted something I've been brooding about for a month or so over in the Spyderco forum. I was actually planning to say something here since we have a lot of James Mattis fans but the issue came up over there first. If you wouldn't mind reading the thread, I would appreciate your opinions on whether or not it would be possible. Somebody like Bill who actually knows Mrs. Mattis would be better able to say what's possible or even desirable.

I agree with your sentiments. I never had the pleasure of any personal contact with JKM, but I learned a lot from his website. It would indeed be a pity if all that knowledge and all those lovely scans were not somehow preserved.
