Post for people who use knives and other good gear

do you heat your tea on a stove, fire, alcohal or esbit burner? Do you put the knives in the tea to tea dye a patina?:D

I plead the fifth.

To get back on topic, here are my responses to your plethora of shenaniganry.

Back pack: 5.11 Rush 72
Hammock: ENO Singlenest with an Equinox 10'x10' urethane coated tarp
Tent: I have a Kelty buttress 6 I recently acquired for when I feel like relaxing. With the Eureka XL camp cot and an air mattress, it is almost as comfortable as sleeping on the bed at home. (Totally stole the idea from Silverthorn.)
Sleeping Bag: I have a cheapy Coleman sleeping bag I use when it is actually cold, but usually just my Snugpak Traveler
Knives: BK16 FPR SABER GRIND FOR THE MOTHERF***IN WIN!!!
Cooking: I either use just a fire, or my Snow Peak Litemax stove
Fire: Giant ass firesteel (.5"x5") or a bic lighter, but I also carry a peanut lighter on my keychain
Water: MSR Miniworks and two Guyot backpacker stainless bottles. Recently got a 10 liter dry bag that can double as a water carrying device as well if need be.
First Aid Kit: Self made kit.
Nav: Silva Ranger (unfortunately not one of the old ones, and the quality has definitely gone downhill) as well as the compass on my Casio Pathfinder watch, which has proven to be incredibly accurate

Hey DICED, ive got a garmin etrex 30 and i havent had any problems with it loosing signal yet. I also dont have super mountainous terrain where i live but there are a lot of woods and i find that it works good. I dont totally rely on it but i havent had to go to the map & compass that i carry for back up yet either. Hope this helps.
