Can somebody tell me what these obese Inactive Duties are good for? Does anyone ever use theirs? Maybe punching holes in a battleship's hull. Or puncturing body armor? Can somebody make up a good excuse for buying one other than - "Because it's there!" How do they cut?

Actually, they cut pretty darn well! Although fat, they do sport deep hollow ground blades and nice edges. :thumbup:
 
There is no reason for them beyond collecting, IMHO. I'm sure someone out there uses one of these monstrosities, but I'd bet a bottle of PVW 23 that most of them sit in safes.

I use the blade as an EDC, for me it's the perfect size and weight for a primary fighting knife. But there are all kinds of people on the list that would fall under the Busse collector class that would buy for other reasons.... like that it's a cool knife to collect. I don't think the woodsman guys on the list would buy as a camp blade... I think the SAR4 is a better camp blade. But that's why you need to own more then just one;):D
 
Like Jaxx said these blades are hollow ground. I don't know of any other hollow ground Busses beside the IAD and KeyLardoHighway... But I can say they are the sharpest Busses I own.
 
To try to get the thread back on line.... Please post pics of your Fat blades!

I started the thread to see cool blades not to debate what we use them for. If you want to start your own thread to debate stuff have at it... just don't do it here. Thanks for understanding:thumbup::D
