My 30yo 1217 ...

It's embarrassed about being see out cuz it's only got this leather sheath WITH STAPLES to wear. It says it's like wearing a prom dress held together by safety pins. ;)

My Father fought through the entire Aleutians Campaign (June 2, 1942 - Sept 10, 1043) with a Kabar combat knife. I should state that he kept it "meat butcher" sharp. He was in charge of the kitchens and they never knew when one of the guys on the base would hit a walrus or seal (non-navy, they were called UDT then) or some other varmint that would need to be dressed right away, and a good sharp knife was not always around. He was then transferred to 3rd Army with Patton heading for the Bulge. Got sick, spoke fluent German, ended up in Kansas helping to interrogate German POW's.

Here are my Ka-Bars.....they have family history and I am trying to restore them....not much to look at and if you were to find it in your heart I would love a sheath since niether has one. The Mk2 belonged to my mom's father. The Mk1 was my dad's Uncle. This is where I am at in the cleaning.....

Well, I can't post all of my Kabars, but I can post one of my older ones.

A Kabar 598-8 Trailblazer from the 1930s. This 8"-blade monster is from the 1930s.
Shown next to a BK-9 for scale. The handle on the Trailblazer is actually bigger than full-size Becker handles.
