Post something interesting about yourself

Linda Carter is my godmother. My mom was a dancer/choreographer and they were friends. I was ring bearer at her second wedding. Ironically that was where I first saw Star Wars ROTJ it changed my life. Early release vhs. My dad also was on an episode of Wonder Woman. He hates is because he said it was an old western fight coordinator and he only knew about haymakers and slow motion fights.

I’m told that our line can be traced to Robert the Bruce. Pretty cool, but not something that I’ve researched myself outside of finding a family tree done by a different line of the family. That first one of our family to cross over from Scotland did so around 1624 if I remember correctly. He was a Mercenary hired to protect tobacco farms. He was murdered at Jamestown during a raid by Native Americans, along with his Wife and Daughter. His two Sons survived because they were at school.

I lived at 16 mile rd and Dequindre rd in Troy Mi. Until I was 18yrs old. The Troy Police station is about 2.5 miles down 16 mile from where I lived, it borders I-75 on one side. The area of that edge of the property is where I’m told that the Oakland County child killer used to dump his victims. He did his dirty work for a long time, basically taunted the Police, and was never caught.
I mention this because when I was 8 years old, in the 3rd grade, which should be 1982, a few years after the nasty bastard had gone dark, someone tried to abduct me and two of my buddies ( both named Mark ) while we waited for the bus in the morning before school.
The guy stopped his big gray boat of a car, an early 80’s, maybe late 70’s GM product, on the side of the road, and waved us over. The road was still 2 lanes at the time, not the multi lane split rd that it is now. We all walked over, he opened up the glove box to show us that it was full of tootsie rolls and something else that I can’t recall right now, then he reached across the car, unlocked the door, and ushered us to get into the car.
The third grade was when we started to swear/cuss/whatever due to the influence of another kid named Mark that had moved to the school that year.
When said abductor ushered us in my buddies and I all looked at each other, without saying a word, we all flipped him off and yelled F^*+ YOU simultaneously. We then ran through a little path in the deep ditch that was next to the road and ran towards my house.
He ended up driving away and didn’t pursue us.

We told everyone about it but non of the teachers or even our Parents believed it. The Police were never notified of the incident. I can still picture the car, and I can still see his face. Due to the proximity to the other events I can’t help but wonder if we were almost abducted by the Oakland County Child Killer.

That was long, I’ll stop there.

Dad was a spook. I went to 10 schools growing up. Have owned 17 motorcycles. Got clocked doing 165mph in TX by DPS (I used to love speeding). Have been defibrillated and on a ventilator for a few days, which led to getting into a medical field.

Have studied martial arts most of my life and have multiple Black Belts and ranking. Have torn both rotator cuffs and broken many bones in my hands as well as a few ribs.

I love animals and the outdoors. I prefer solitude in nature, and prefer to be around animals than people.

I quit hunting after making eye contact with a large brown bear that swam close to the skiff I was in while it was catching salmon. It stood up and made eye contact with me for a long time, and something inside me just changed.

I have been very close to some big brown bears (5 yards), been bluff charged a couple of times.

I have petted many moose, had to push one out of the garage. One let her calves come over to sniff me. Had a bull moose shove me with his head (not to hurt me) after I removed encrusted ice that was covering most of his face.

I have had wolves watch me do chores at the cabin from 20-30 feet and some will answer me in winter when I howl.

I love fly-fishing, critters, nature, being alone miles from anyone or any noise.

My wife is the best person I know.

Oh…..and I love knives.

I have an ancestor who was one of Napoleon's generals. His name is inscribed on the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
I have his ceremonial sword (sadly it's not in D3V).
